@@ViolaDeLune I have played the piano for a long while and have just started the violin. I'm really curious about the viola though. It just feels like there are fewer viola recordings compared to the violin. Oh well, I still have time to change my mind haha as I am only renting my instrument. Anyway, don't hesitate to share your training with us!

@@kirgg3902 people tend to make fun of the viola because it’s a “worse violin” because it’s lower. I wish people wouldn’t bash it so much because it’s still a beautiful instrument.

I would love to see the viola challenge the violin. The viola is so beautiful and have a rich deep voice. But viola player's act as if they are afraid to play the first violin part. I play the harp and harpist are not afraid to play the first violin part on the harp. Talk about a challenge. But viola players just don't even try. Is there any viola player out there that will stand up to violin players? I have never seen any.

Maybe becouse viola players earlier were playing on violin and now its not so interesting for them? I’ve played 12 years on violin and I would prefer to move on. Actually I’ m in love in harp ;) and I’ m planning to learn how to play. Do You have any tips? Or do you have your films to see what You are playing? Also I’ m interested in Cello and double bass ;)

I don't think violists are out there to out-ego violinists. They know the power of the viola is not in how it can 'stand out', but in how well it can support the other instruments in making the most awesome harmony. Its not a duel to be the show-stopper! Think of a delicious Thai curry - the violins might be the most notable at points (ie. chilli). But without the lime, coconut milk, sugar, ginger (harp, viola, celli, etc) - its just a bunch of hot spice
