Vitus ZX-1 EVO Review | INCREDIBLE Value Aero Road Bike

Спорт

This video contains paid product placement for Freewheel. The 2021 ZX-1 EVO is an all new aero road bike from Vitus, however, it’s an aero bike with some interesting claims around it, or should that be lack of…
Around two years ago, Vitus started with a blank piece of paper and released their ZX-1. And at the time, and as you’d expect from any self respecting bike brand, they were pretty happy with it.
But never satisfied, Vitus have recently updated the ZX-1 EVO to the bike you see here today.
So, what’s new? Well, if you compare the new EVO to the old ZX-1 then pretty much everything has changed.
The frame looks far more like a traditional aero bike, with deeper tube profiles at the back. Vitus claims they have been able to increase the stiffness and reduce the weight, although you’ll have to take a leap of faith on that one as the press release doesn’t say by how much.
What is surprising (and welcome) is the Shimano 105 gearing which is fairly low spec in relation to the wheelset which are proper deep section carbon, tubeless wheels from Reynolds.
With many big brands releasing aero bikes with eye-watering price tags, the Vitus ZX-1 might surprise you! Watch the video to find out more about the
new bike.
What do you think of the new ZX-1 EVO? Does aero matter to you? Or are you more interested in lightweight through and through. As always let us know your thoughts in the comments!

They'll never be able to compete their logistics model is far more complicated and they have much higher marketing and sponsorship costs for most brands. Maybe Giant and Merida could achieve similar prices as they are actual manufacturers but most brands don't have any manufacturing facilities themselves. I doubt Vitus have much of a design team pretty much all the engineering, design and certification will happen at the manufacturer whoever that is. Vitus probably tweak the geometry, choose the components and paint artwork design. Personally I don't need a bike this good it would be wasted on me. I'm happy with Claris level road bikes.

Local manufacturer has said they need to source parts from random websites just to keep things rolling. Demand is up 20% and the production simply has not had time to adjust. Good value usually means Chinese high end carbon manufacturing. Meaning the frame, the fork, the bars, seatpost & stem. The rest, Japan or Asia, including Continentals or Michelin's. Which I do a 40km almost daily over pretty nasty terrain on 700 x 23 Grand Sport Race. The best around road tyre I've used for non racing. Bought a carbon hardtail fork out of China as well, great value, light, well designed and crafted. If tariffs and freight charges were lower out of the EU, maybe there'd be a return of jobs and more competitive manufacturing. Europe still has the best designers & many of the world's great innovators, but why outsource manufacturing? Nice bike and review. Is that Italian designed framset available only & price?

Componentry-wise it's a very good value for the money, but it's a little bit too heavy. Trek, Specialized, Canyon etc. who can make a nice bike with aero elements as well as disc brakes and weight well under 8 kg even without the fancy Sram RED AXS stuff.

@@jeskli11 disc brakes are neccessary on mtb, slightly better on road bikes but not neccesary. If you want a fully aero bike with discs youre either going to pay a premium are get something around 8 kgs. The bike in the video was their 105 spec in xl so its gonna be a bit heavier. The wheels are 1700 grams without discs more than a rim brale claris bike but they are aero. The stem is probably over 200grams to route the cable iternally but at least its standard and can be replaced. If you want a light aero bike get rim brakes or just get a climbing bike and fit it to an aerodynamic position on it, the rider has the biggest effect on aeroness and all bikes are designed in a wind tunnel nowadays

Still pretty good price for a top spec model than literally any other brands with their top end bikes that would cost like £9000. Make your comment more detail before trying to criticizing it
