The Ogun River which originates from the Odo Ogun (meaning "Ogun's River") is a river which is believed to have a special connection with Ogun, the god of iron and war in yoruba mythology, hence its name.
This river meanders its way southwestward through various landscapes, including forests, and urban areas, before finally emptying into the Lagos Lagoon. Along its journey, it passes through several towns and villages, providing sustenance to the surrounding communities.
