For this video, we head to Switzerland to tour Blancpain’s incredible manufacturing facility and headquarters with longtime CEO Marc Hayek. After seeing how some of the watches are made, Marc and I sit down for an in-depth interview and hands-on with all of the newest Fifty Fathoms releases including the polarizing but very fun Swatch x Blancpain. What do you guys think of Blancpain in 2023?

You impress Teddy. You've built this whole thing yourself. Now ending up as an distinguished guest at Blancplain with the CEO as your host. You should be very proud of yourself. You inspire.

To celebrate my 50th birthday, my wife was kind enough to surprise me with a Fifty Fathom Bathyscaphe (43mm). I love it 🥰 And of course, I love her too ❤️
The one question I think we all have for Blancpain is: when are they going to do a 40-42mm *regular production* Fifty Fathoms? They have a Ferrari in the stables yet they refuse to let it out. Also I wish they would bring back the Leman.
@sanghoonlee5171

They will release 38mm and 42mm Fifty Fathoms around November. It's pretty much official according to boutique employees. Not a limited edition. A regular model. Edit: Boutique says it's been delayed to the new year...

Yes. Even if they just produced it for a year and cut the sales, I would so much rather have one of these instead of a submariner or any other diver in that price range. The bezel to dial ratio and it’s overall aesthetic.. even though I’m a bracelet guy I would love a 40-42mm fifty fathoms on a strap or bracelet

100% agree, on both counts...The current Fifty Fathoms looks like a dinner plate strapped to my wrist, and if they announced a new run of the Flyback Chronograph, I would purchase it in a heartbeat.

@@sanghoonlee5171then what was the point of a “limited edition” act 1 in 42mm ? Entirely redundant other then the dial writing and platinum rotor?
@sanghoonlee5171

@@peterkryvonosov4566 The 42mm limited edition was to celebrate 70th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms. The new regular production model has no anniversary connection and therefore can be sold for years to come. Also, the limited edition resembled the original 1953 Fifty Fathoms, but the regular model will (probably) have a modern design, not a vintage look.
Blancpain is my favorite watch brand. Their work comes out here in this fantastic visit, fantastic interview of Marc Hayek and tour of their facility. Marc was born to lead Blancpain and what he has sone with Fifty Fathoms, and the people he has brought in to do what they do in a unique fashion, at the oldest watch company established in 1735.
He looks like someone who feels genuine happiness when explaining the workflow. Very few people can do that.

Amazing tour in BLANCPAIN! loved the video and its amazing and spectacular craftsmanship!! BLANCPAIN is an spectacular high end timepiece and brand!!!
This is honestly one of the best interviews I have watched regarding the watch industry. So intimate and heartening. The passion from both the interviewer and interviewee is undeniable.
That's why I collect Blancpain watches. A wonderful brand. Not mainstream at all.
I think Marc Hayek is my favorite watch CEO after watching this. What a humble, well spoken, respectful individual. Love you of course also Teddy, your content is my favorite!!
Teddy, this is such an incredible interview. The light shed on the brand the CEO’s impressions on it are amazing. One of your very best!
Just WOW. You really made justice to how this company is presented. The timing is perfect with the swatch collab, and now this. Makes us really appreciate the company more despite being very underrated. Thank you Teddy!!!
This is an amazing channel. I just started to build a watch collection and have learned so much on this channel, and the interview guests are always interesting. Keep up the good work 👍
Despite of mixed reviews, I want to thank Mr. Hayek for Blancpain x Swatch colab. Got my Ocean of Storms 3 weeks ago and I love it. Way more better than Omega x Swatch colab. I will get the real Fifty Fanthoms someday
I had the opportunity to visit the manufacture with my business partner a few months ago. It was one of the most tremendous experiences... It is just great to see all the watchmakers and artists again who talked to us and showed us their craft. Thank you, Teddy, for letting me relive that moment through this video.
This tour series of the great watchmakers has been wonderful....especially done with such class. Thank you!
I agree with some of the previous comments the lack of 40mm sport watches. The bathyscaphe would be perfect at 40mm and the fifty fathoms would work for so many at that size. I'm fortunate to own a FF Barakuda and its my favorite watch, it gets lots of wrist time. Great episode Teddy
The craftsmanship that goes into the luxury watch line is amazing. Beautiful watches!
Thank You Teddy for Sharing This Great experience with this Master Watch maker! Very informative. Most people don’t realize how much goes into this wonderful “Art”.
Great presentation Teddy👍 Marc’s passion for the brand is truly refreshing for a CEO and so genuine…. 👏👏
These visits are the best content of your channel. Thanks and try to do as much as you can!
I've always really liked Blancpain. Now I love them. I have gone back and forth for years on which watch I should aspire to have as my grail. I think this video has cemented the Fifty Fathoms as that watch. I'm so impressed with the CEO. He isn't trying to wow us with market strategy and corporate jargon like so many of them do. He's a down to earth guy who loves watches just like the customers. When he said that he judges success by the "Sparkle in the eye" and the rest follows. That hit me. Thoroughly impressed. I want a Blancpain!
Great video, Marco oozes Blancpain watch passion from every pore, and is a very proud man and rightly so. The craftsmanship that goes into these timepieces is of the scale.
Teddy gets the best interviews and access because he does the best interviews. So much kick ass content from this talented boi.
Great to learn about Blancpain Teddy, thanks! great video and Interview. I just recently got interest because yes, I got a Swatch/Blancpain Ocean of Storms, and I'm just so impressed about how it feels and looks, the details! It really feels like a much higher-end watch but also it's pure joy, it makes you smile, like Mr. Hayek says. The sustainability part is very important, people talk about if they like or not the Nato strap but they're missing the biggest point! It's made out from recycled fishing nets, big statement. I learned from your video about the crown system... which for a Swatch is impressive, the hex screws on the lugs same as the Fifty, etc. Mr. Hayek seems so down to earth and humble, you can see the passion put in this brand. Amazing. I'm in love... of course they made me want a Blancpain, a Fifty Fathoms 42mm!... I fell on the trap of course, but it's a good one! Cheers.
An incredible journey in the history, the present and the future of one of the oldest watch brands. Thank you Teddy! Your content is the best!
Watched many videos. Subbed finally. Thank you for providing these quality contents. A channel that actually provide educational information.
@ 18:33 the Blancpain movement pictured is in fact a Frederic Piguet 1150 movement with modifications. Breguet also uses the same movement in some of their watches (look for Breguet 537 caliber). Not all their movements take 5-7 years of development, just the complex high end ones. Awesome watches btw, excelent interview!
Lovely lovely video. Their artisans and watchmakers are shockingly good. Their ‘one watchmaker per watch’ ethos is a wonderful touch. Well done Teddy and team, excellent work. I wish you’d mentioned a bit more on that jumping hour tourbillon that watch looked epic!
I own a Fifty Fathoms “Dark Knight” 45mm, and it’s by far one of my most favorite watches. Love Blancpain! ❤
Our guy Teddy is incredibly respectful and that’s a big reason why he makes and keeps these valuable connections .
One of the best videos for one of my favorite brands. Taking it to another level, Teddy. FF 5015 Titanium all the way! To those complaining about size, I'm sorry you can't pull it off 😁
As always Teddy you deliver the best and most informative watch content videos. Going to the manufacturers and seeing the inner working of their world and what it takes to create these masterpieces is truly special. This is what makes your channel stand out above the rest. Bravo
Loved this film - the interviews, audio quality, photography, everything!
Please Mr. Hayek we need a 40-42mm Fifty Fathoms with a brushed stainless steel case and closed case back, a true and pure dive watch the most iconic of them all, thank you in advance.

42 mm is here. Except brushed is in titanium (which is better than steel in every way) and it has a transparent case back. Must elaborate on that: it’s far better than solid case back. Why? Just search youtube for a “rusty rolex” or some similar request and you’d see how MANY "true divers" where almost destroyed and reached astronomical repair price because of solid caseback. Transparent would let it’s owner know something is wrong far before movement stalls because of rust that was building up for years… And it’s Blancpain so a pleasure to see finishing on the caliber is a nice bonus.

Intelligent and thoughtful question as befitting the interview of a most intelligent and thoughtful CEO! A fantastic haute horlogerie brand that plays by its own rules. Marc Hyek's comment about adapting to your watch and so appreciating it more it particularly relevant to Blancpain and the other top watch brands. They are doing something very different to Rolex/Omega/IWC...
Thank you, Teddy! This was special. Really well done.
Great job Teddy spot lighting this iconic brand. Beautifully shot as well.
Teddy is so well educated in this industry. He isn’t boastful and continues to impress me every video.
Fantastic video. Amazing to see the craftmanship which goes into every single timepiece.
I bought my bathyscaphe titanium 23 six months ago. Been loving that watch since 2013. Highest end watch I could ever buy. The trinity is far away from what they case in this watch. I just love it. And the brand obviously.
Thanks for sharing the visit Teddy!
An appreciation of a lost art of watch making that's unfortunately becoming less common. Thank you for the video. Well executed!
Outstanding video. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this amazing content about a truly legendary brand.
After waiting a month I received my new Blancpain FF 5010 42mm blue dial in Titanium 23 and it's perfect. The size is perfect wearing smaller than my Sub 124060 and Glashutte SeaQ Due to the rounded case flanks and short curve lugs. The fine brush case looks awesome
Dear Teddy, you are like a good wine: You get better every year ! Keep on.
Incredible video!! Would love to see a episode on Grönefeld someday
Teddy - I've watched most all KZread watch channels for the past 10 years, and all other content pales in comparison to yours. Much is full of theory parotted by fools whom have very limited experience with Swiss Watches. Your visits to JLC, and now Blancpain are top notch and you should be proud of your work and access to these companies. Thank you...
Excellent video, Teddy! I’ve always like Blancpain, especially the Bathyscaphe line, and this interview adds the human element to the brand. Now they just need to develop a stainless steel version of the bronze gold model, without the moisture indicator, and it will be a smash hit.
Really nice to see where they make the Swatch x Blancpain. Thx Teddy
This is probably your best video yet Teddy. I can tell this visit affected you. The time is now to create your own heritage pieces. We're all waiting : )
Outstanding interview and tour. Thank you Teddy
Really frustrated that there’s no standard production 40mm FF
Ok I've heard of Blancpain but honestly knew almost nothing about the brand before this video. Now I'm a committed buyer. I probably can't afford a Métiers d'Art ever -- well either that or downpayment on a house -- but will definitely add one Blancpain to my collection.
Teddy, you are just on a whirlwind tour of watchmaking powerhouses bravo buddy 👏
I owned a Bathyscaphe 5000 1210, more than 2 years ago. Most beauty and keeping watch. Ich never thought, this could be. But really, the more you wear it, the more you understand. ❤
Well done Teddy. You keep knocking it out of the Park!
The bronze gold anniversary edition is absolutely gorgeous
Congratulations on this video which I enjoyed with a Bathyscaphe titanium on my wrist. I especially liked the part about movement finishing. I would have also been interested to hear their reaction to the Perezcope article “Debunking the Fictitious History of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms - Perezcope” which claims the Fifty Fathoms was not launched in 1953 but later. I am also not entirely sure how a disposable plastic watch with a non-serviceable movement fits with Blancpain’s ocean preservation efforts.
He's obviously a Watch enthusiast and loves every aspect of the watches that they produce, whatever the function or style. I hope that the Swatch 'Co-Labs' will help to bring new people into this 'wonderful world of watches'?!
Amazing insight. Thanks for sharing.
Teddy’s back is probably permanently in pain from carrying watch content on this platform 😂 His interviews with these legends seem like casual conversations and the love of watches really comes through. They give everyone something to aspire to!
I love my 50F & this brand as a whole!
Amazing. The amount of foresight to release products that take 7-8 years to develop and be successful. I guess, if you’re building a timeless creation, the timing is less important.
Love this, Teddy! Now I'm wondering if you could one day visit Oris in Hölstein! that would simple be awesome!
Fantastic interview. Thank you

At Jaguar engraving or whatever the big cat is is absolutely beyond amazing
The Sea Wolf is has equal influence on the dive watch they came out at right at the same time the symbols may have even come out a bit earlier the difference with the fifty fathoms is when it was in prototype mode was being worn on a fishing trip with the president of Rolex and then Rolex proceeded to use the same design in The Tudor Submariner and then the Rolex Submariner
