VISITING BEAUSOLEIL ISLAND IN A KAYAK.......Great Georgian Bay scenery!!

In this video I took a day trip to Beausoleil island in Georgian Bay. It is very scenic especially the northern section. I included some parking information in Honey Harbour since I wasted alot of time trying to find out where to park the first time I went there. If you want to paddle around the island starting from Honey Harbour it is about 25 km in distance.....however there was not much to see going around the southern part. The north west side of the island is also very scenic and I will investigate that further in 2023. Please be careful and check weather conditions before heading out. Also watch out for large watercraft in the main channel! Don't attempt this trip on a busy summer weekend unless you are comfortable paddling in choppy, busy water....lots of boat traffic around Honey Harbour....but it is worth it once you get to the north side of the island. Hope you enjoy the video!!!

Excellent music sound track... totally supports the mood and transports you there. Great video and as a fellow kayaker I really appreciate the background location/parking/ launch info.

Another great vid! I've canoed around the island and the Southern part is indeed boring - time is better spent at the North end. Power boats in the channels were frustrating as well, but after you get out in the open you can't beat it.👍

You do a great job explaining the nuances of your trip, I really appreciate the information you include. I think boaters have gotten more inconsiderate over the last 20 years or so...very little regard for the danger their wakes pose to paddlers.

Great trip, not all boaters are rude. I try to reduce my wake as much as possible for folks on kayaks....:)

If you ever want a back up camera person, let me know. I'm in the geo bay area. I tried doing your giants tomb from Awenda but 1.5 meters trough to crest so just had a beach day and exploration of awenda. Love your vids! It must be helpful on the water amongst islands to fly the drone up to get perspective. p.s. If you like this scenery, have you paddled Phillip Edward Island?

Sorry you weren't able to get to Giants Tomb....but beach days are pretty good too! Yes the drone is very helpful and makes for good memories! Have paddled Philip Edward Island many years ago but have not had the chance to go back. Fantastic Georgian bay scenery and crown land!!!! Thanks for your comments!

Where did you leave your kayak while hiking around? Do you ever leave it unattended while exploring? Do people steal kayaks from a situation like that?

yes I leave it on the shore where I get out...but I never leave it unattended on the mainland where someone can quickly take it with a car. I have heard of many people having their kayaks stolen lately. Pretty sad...
