This is amazing! Props for undertaking and completing such a huge project. I especially like the synth sound design :) The detune is also really effective! Lower keys are always more emotional, but it also feels fresh, a bit like I'm experiencing the song for the first time again... Anyway, thanks for creating this!

13:28 is soo satisfying, this version has a lot more reverb and delay than the original, but it fits nicely for the state of the protagonist in the song, sounds very nostalgic

Thank you! That solo is the last thing I recorded, the rest of the song was practically mixed and I was still putting it off. It's a daunting section to get right, and so glad it came together how it did. There's the slightest bass octaver on it too, which I think adds a ton despite being so quiet.

Very interesting how you play that guitar part at 7:53. Especially cause i didn't found a tab with that part in tapping, and in their live, they play that in tapping. So it's very interesting to see how you work is really perfect. Great!

Fun fact, the actual recording you're hearing was done with alternate picking instead! I was rushing through recording and just wanted to get it done so I brute forced it with a thousand takes. When I went back to do the video, I knew there must be a better way, so I worked out a tapping pattern I liked right then. It came out sounding very similar, but the note attacks you're hearing are predictably a little different than what the video suggests. If you're gonna learn it, I'd recommend tapping it. It's incredible how people capable of covers like this just exist and almost nobody knows them. Well, now I know, and I'm happy about it! Awesome cover man, I can only imagine how many hours went into it all I should really give Haken a try, seems like they have what Dream Theater lost with Portnoy's departure
