Visionary Audiobook, Extract from Chapter 19 -- Read by Graham Hancock

VISIONARY: THE MYSTERIOUS ORIGINS OF HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS is the newly released update of Graham Hancock's earlier book Supernatural: Meetings with the Ancient Teachers of Mankind. The soundtrack of this video is an extract from Graham's narration of Chapter 19, with added imagery. More on all editions of VISIONARY here: grahamhancock.com/visionary/
Less than 50,000 years ago mankind had no art, no religion, no sophisticated symbolism, no innovative thinking. Then, in a dramatic and electrifying change, described by scientists as “the greatest riddle in human history,” all the skills and qualities that we value most highly in ourselves appeared already fully formed, as though bestowed on us by hidden powers.
In Visionary, Graham Hancock sets out to investigate this mysterious “before-and-after moment” and to discover the truth about the influences that gave birth to modern human mind. His quest takes him on a journey of adventure and detection from the stunningly beautiful painted caves of prehistoric France, Spain, and Italy to remote rock shelters in the mountains of South Africa, where he finds a treasure trove of extraordinary Stone Age art.
Hancock uncovers clues that lead him to travel to the depths of the Amazon rainforest to drink the powerful plant hallucinogen ayahuasca with Indian shamans, whose paintings contain images of “supernatural beings” identical to the animal-human hybrids depicted in prehistoric caves and rock shelters. Hallucinogens such as mescaline also produce visionary encounters with exactly the same beings. Scientists at the cutting edge of consciousness research have begun to consider the possibility that such hallucinations may be real perceptions of other “dimensions.”
Could the “supernaturals” first depicted in the painted caves and rock shelters be the ancient teachers of mankind? Could it be that human evolution is not just the “blind,” “meaningless” process that Darwin identified, but something more purposive and intelligent, something that we have barely even begun to understand?
Previously published as Supernatural, this definitive edition includes a new Introduction by Graham Hancock as well as restored chapters that were omitted from the original paperback release.

I don't know if you're tracking the archaeological discoveries made in White Sands National Park where they've found footprints of humans with seeds that have been carbon dated to at least 23,000 years ago. Which is well before the "official" date when humans first arrived in North America. It seems to validate what you've been saying for years.

I do not remember who made this point, Graham or Randal, but modern humans are maybe 200,000 years old. The planet is billions of years old. Humans could have evolved many times by now. Thank you Graham, continue to be you, friend.

We could have been technologically "advanced" several times over in the past 300,000 years. And their could have been other species who came and went, and who were as smart or smarter then we are.

I look up to you Graham. Not because your studies have uncovered lost truths but because you put so much work and dedication into your studies. You go all around the world trying to find evidence. Even though you get a lot of push back from archaeologists, you don’t let that detour you from trying to find your truth. Now, as far as your actual studies…. well my father is an archeologist, and while he was able to explain in great detail of why almost every point made is a little off, he kept saying over and over that “but I have tons of respect for him, he does not quit in the face of anything. This is how a true scientist should act during his studies, rather than caring of what his colleagues may think, he searches for truth” and then would move on. Your attitude towards truth should be stamped into history for eternity, imagine what humans could achieve if we all stopped caring about our colleagues and started caring about truth as you do 🤔🪐 the history that would be uncovered, the knowledge it would bare. Can’t even imagine it Edit: also Dr. McCafferty gave his highest regards

What comes to mind, when I hear this from you, is the Book of Enoch where he describes exactly this copulation between man and "angels". The new testament is very clear that this happened to Mary.

(Completely off topic)I wanted to point something out to you that you may already know or you may find interesting, something I’m curious to find again. I have seen photos of structures in the Amazon that have decorations very similar to the fleur de Lis. I can not find these pictures anymore. however, there are many cultural decorations and head dresses of the Kayapo people that show a three feathered point. When I saw the stone structure it had such a striking resemblance that it was uncanny and I wondered if you may have seen anything like it or may know anything from your studies. I know it’s impossible that it has anything to do with the European Fluer I just thought the resemblance interesting.

20 years of humiliation and suffering will either kill you or make you stronger… If one makes it through then one would be a great teacher… 40 years of churches could never give this experience… Experience, there is no formulation for this…
