Honestly you can pluck anyone of the characters for TOR and they'd seem to have a better story arc than Anakin lel.

Anakin really would have done well in the Old Republic Era. So many wise Jedi there during that time who would have been more empathetic and understanding of him.

Satele would've understood his pain and helped him go along. Especially since both of them have affairs and children. Anakin would likely replace Jaric Kaedan and Jun Seros as the hard-hitter of the Council, especially since both of those Jedi died. Anakin would find Jedi who would appreciate his way of dealing with things, and he'd finally fit in with allies like Ardun Kothe, who forgoes the Jedi Code to accomplish his goal.
