@@mlezhnev1956 WOW!! I'm impressed, but, to be honest, since it was Julia, I expected to be impressed!🌠 She is the type of singer that we thought didn't exist in this time. She gives us hope that singing has not been destroyed, and while I hope she has a very long career, I also hope that she is passing her technique on to others. Mischa, before I heard your daughter's voice, I bemoaned the fact that all of the truly beautiful voices had left us before I could hear them. Now, as long as I am alive, there is the possibility that I may hear Julia live! Thank you so much for bringing her into this world!!🌍✨♥️

When Lezhneva is good, she is not just very good, she is unbelievable, virtually an audible embodiment of angelic purity and completely relaxed, natural grace. And apart from her excellent skills in very fast vocal runs, what really excels in her for meis her wonderful legato and breath control, which give her singing a sense of complete ease, the voice flows and flies almost like a feather. In my opinion there are few recordings EVER made that convey so much immaculate beauty as her "Nox dulcis" (Händel) - no big fireworks there, just extremely sweet musicality.

She is outstanding . Her voice is unique. I love Edita Gruberowa, Lucia Popp and Julia Lezhneva -they are at the top of operatic stars for me.

I believe Julia Lezhneva embodies the TRUE historically informed baroque movement. A naturalness and choral purity, rather than a focus on producing a big sound as would be required for later composers. Conversely though, NOT a bleached, thin, tinny sound as some misinformed people THINK a baroque voice is. Julia's sound is rich and warm and distinctive. She has presence personality! Karina Gauvin is another baroque singer who I consider a TRUE historically informed interpreter.

For me, the most ideal soprano voices of our days for baroque repertoire are Lezhneva, Piau and Gauvin. All of them have that graceful, natural, unlabored, almost instrumental sound at times, but their voices still have vibrancy, color and fullness - without having to be "big" in the romantic sense. They are all incredible, but Lezhneva has the more angelic, silvery and pure tone, while Piau's and Gauvin's are more creamy and round voices.

Durante questo periodo di crisi nel mondo, questa è la migliore medicina possibile. Ho lasciato che il suo incredibile fiato mi portasse in paradiso. L'ho ascoltata per la prima volta al Concorso Internazionale Elena Obraztsova per Giovani Cantanti (2007). Aveva 17 anni e cantò "Riedi al Soglio" della Zelmira di Rossini. Non si vedeva nervosa, nonostante il fatto che tra i giudici c'erano Sylva Sass, Christa Ludwig, Obraztsova, Teresa Berganza, Peter Dvorsky e altri luminari. Nessuno, tranne Cecilia Bartoli, ha spedito una tale fioritura incandescente. Come Bartoli, incorona l'aria con un acuto fenomenale (E♭). Bravissima allora, bravissima adesso.

I know many purists don't particularly like her, and I can sort of understand them, as her technique is not a traditional baroque technique. However, I love her, and I say that as someone who loves baroque singing above almost anything else. In the end, I don't care that much about the way she produces her sound, as long as it sounds good. In her case, it is glorious.

@@LohengrinO I'm really glad you're posting some of Lezhneva's brilliant work (honestly stunning). As for Oropesa, I thought the problem was ONLY related to her Lucia in Madrid. As I understand, the theatre launched their own Netflix-like service for their own productions, which is why they (the theatre) targeted all content on KZread from that particular production (it was the only thing people wanted to watch, lol 😂). I believe everything else from her seemed to be alright, which is why it's stayed online. I even think some new content of hers has been uploaded, no problems whatsoever.

The amalgamation of joy, musicality and technique is something artistes strive for. One without the others, would render the music soulless or cold or even worse dull...thanks buddy! This soprano has the above three in abundance...

Yeah, I swear that it's a kind of magic with how some artists get their voice-colours to reproduce even 1000% as accurately!…

This is "Per dar pregio" from Rodrigo, HWV 5 by Handel. He borrowed the aria almost directly from his cantata Il delirio amoroso, the aria in this cantata being "Un pensiero voli in ciel"

I love her expressions also. As serene as the voice... why people hark on about pure baroque this or traditional bel canto that .. why would a singer just want to be like any other singer? It’s great if you are and can happily earn a good living doing so but if you have something different and an extra talent, it’s truly glorious to see that harnessed well and nurtured as is the case here evidently I hadn’t heard of Ms Lezhnava before but I shall look out for her now Thank you for sharing

Baroque is pre-Bel Canto... and I could say very much Bel Canto when sung by truly talented voices like Julias

Also, would you listen to the breath control and the fluidity of the legato on that coloratura? Harkens back to Joan Sutherland baroque singing.
