    When doing mock ups, do this design tool actually give a count of how many balloons are used?

    Yes, it will show you all the balloons used, including the ordering number. Go to Files, choose "Create list" and a new browser window will open with the list which you can save as a pdf file. To have the correct amount of balloons when you create something in the design tool please make sure to even add the balloons that can't be seen from the front, just like when you actually build a design.
