Virtual options for our Autumn MAL: knit top-down colorwork sweaters
September starts our Autumn MAL, top-down stranded colorwork yoke sweaters. We have a short list of pattern suggestions rather than one sweater we will all be focusing on, and while I may make some videos, a great option we are trying out is virtual master classes on Zoom! $25/session or $100 for all 5, check out the schedule below and use the link here to sign up:

Schedule: Please see below for the schedule of events, only the virtual classes are listed.
I. Getting started: Processing the pattern, selecting a size, calculating/selecting yarn, gauge swatching, casting on. Virtual September 3, 1-3 pm
II. Working on the yoke: increasing, stranded colorwork (ways to do stranded colorwork, methods of locking your floats if needed). Virtual September 17, 1-3 pm
III. Sleeve separation & torso knitting. Methods of dividing for sleeves and body knitting, best practices, logistics. Virtual October 1, 1-3 pm
IV. Returning to the sleeves: Getting your work back on needles, starting the sleeves. Options: one at a time, setup for 2-at-a-time sleeves. Basic sleeve shaping. Virtual October 15, 1-3 pm
V. Finalizations: Binding off, sewing in ends, closing holes, concepts of blocking. Virtual October 29, 1-3 pm
Supply list:
Pattern, yarn required, and needles will all be determined by what you select, we can assist with that either before the classes meet or at the first session. Below is our suggested short list, but any top-down sweater is welcome.

:/ I hear that about being busy! What we are offering for those who want it: If you are unable to attend, and sign up for the sessions, or the sessions you are interested in, we will give you access to the recordings. Not the same as being there live, and won’t work for everyone, but something to consider! :) we can also offer more follow-up help over email to those purchasers.
Will there be a video on demand option for paid participants if they are not able to make the live classes?

Hi Holly, those who pay for the online sessions will have access to the zoom recordings, I will have them on a private KZread listing you will have access to, and perhaps a file share format as well, looking into options for that

Hi Jennifer- the yarn does not have to be purchased from us to participate in the MAL or the lessons, the session fees are the same and we’d love to have you participate!
Hi! I am in australia and would love to be a part of this. The zoom meetings times are not suitable for me. If I do register, can I get recordings?

Hi Betsy, that’s an option too. We don’t have different tiers for this, but if you purchase all the sessions you will have access to the videos, I’ll keep you updated when they are published, the first one is already out.❤️
