This Uva team compared to the one I saw lose to JMU earlier this year is really a different team. TB is the master at taking what he has and getting the most out of it. When they played JMU as an example he was still teaching and working with the team to see what worked and what didn't and JMU played their butts off and beat the Whoos. Good on them but they would not want to play the Whoos now. They are not a great team but they are improving game by game and will not be an easy out in the ACC Tourney.

Everyone hates on us but this exactly what I want to see at this point of the year. Terrible shooting behind the arc is usually a deal breaker for us and to get a win shooting poorly from 3 is huge. Shows that this team's defense is invested and understands what TB wants. And I just love that we beat Coach K at Cameron one last time.

we are definitely not as strong as in previous seasons, but I have total faith in Coach Bennett to get every ounce of effort out of his teams, and his experience in getting his teams ready for that post-season run is invaluable.

Duke took a timeout when Beekman hit the go ahead 3. College bball timeouts are 75 seconds. From the refs stop whistle to start 130 seconds passed. The refs were like "Let's give Duke nearly a full extra minute to strategize on the sideline, and while we're at it let's add some time to the game clock, lol!" Does anyone else think the refs were trying to do everything possible to sway to the game back to Duke's favor?

@@joeymiddleton5821 I have no idea when it’s going to happen but, maybe one day you’ll realize that Virginia isn’t “trash” anymore. Obviously you’ve missed the last 8 years of ACC basketball. The ACC goes through Charlottesville until someone else can dominate the league the way Virginia has recently.

What's defense? Both teams were porous. It's hard to believe UVA won on a three pointer considering their percentage in that game.

Carolina beats UVA soundly then UNC gets destroyed by Duke only for Duke to turn around a lose to UVA. College Basketball makes absolutely no sense.

That wasn't poor reffing. That was intentional reffing. The refs have a reputation for doing everything they can do to help dook win. (Even adding more time on the clock for some phantom reason) I'm not a Virginia fan. But, that was an excellent win by them.

I know there is a general perception that refs "root" for the most hated teams, but that's just not true. It just so happened that tonight, it seems like every single close call went against UVA, which happens sometimes -- and the Hoos overcame it.

@@sawmill035 the lack of obvious calls this game were genuinely astounding. Franklin and Beekman both got hit in the head on no calls, and they called a foul on a hit to the head that shouldn’t have been a foul. They were missing and-1s for us left and right including on the game winner.

@@thecapsfan5323 in a different video, I counted 10 or 11 borderline or obvious calls _in the second half alone_ that went Duke's way and put timestamps for all of them. Keep in mind, that probably wasn't even all of them because this was a 20-minute highlight video.

Jay Williams & Carlos Boozer were 5 star MCD's AA that was back in 1998, almost 25 years ago. Jay Williams was 2001 which was over 20 years ago. To act like *Roach K was just getting good players 7 years ago is a lie, unless you were born in 2000 lol. I didn't mention a WHOLE LOT of 5 star and MCD's AA players they had (Josh McRoberts & Greg Paulus in 2005- so 17 years ago) etc. etc.

Watching these highlights a year later, this version of Kadin Shedrick has completely disappeared.

I didn’t catch whole game. Put on with about 10 minutes left. I heard Williams was out with foul trouble but why wasn’t Griffin in? Didn’t know if he was hurt or what, but he is on fire right now. Best 3 point percentage, over 50%. Also second best scorer on team right now.

Virginia should have learned that they need to play for 2's - they absolutely crushed Duke in the paint. Played a good game in a place which is at best hostile to visiting teams.

Duke players need to learn BETTER court AWARENESS, e.g., Clark lobs a pass to his team mate while Williams and Banchero were slowly coming down court. Roach gets the ball in bounds then gets it stolen right from him! Banchero may be a no.1 NBA draft pick, but he needs to play better defense and OFFENSIVE INTENSITY.

Maybe he’s not the #1 pick? How can we keep going by this metric of “upside” when it doesn’t seem to produce? Draft a damn player with toughness and grit that has played for three years and won big games. I’d take that over a hot season freshman that’s one and done.

The refs were definitely calling for Duke. I am proud of the UVA team for keeping their composure. I love this scrappy team and watching them improve as the season goes on. They may lose to a hot shooting 3-point team but will never be outsmarted, out coached or out hustled.

The steal under the hoop was the game for UVA! 3pts just handed to UVA. Dukes awareness was awful. But again they are coming up the most hyped game of the year vs UNC. Duke has to deal with everyone's best shot all season. I don't hear anyone saying I can't wait till we play UVA and give them the best we got anymore 😂😂. Congrats to UVA but don't let it swell your heads to much. Dukes good but they have very serious consistency issues

Bennett is finally getting the burger boys and 5 stars to come here, starting with the incoming recruiting class. He's dominated the top conference in the NCAA, has had multiple number 1 seeds (yeah, yeah, UMBC), and won a Natty... all with 2-3 star recruits and he managed to beat your best team since 2019 at home, with his worse team in at least ten years. Duke had the game at the end with a 2 point lead they fouled Theo John when he got that rebound that was not a jump ball!!! Just remember this UVA ain’t ranked and Duke is the only ranked team in the ACC!! So we will see where Virginia is in March

You guys got almost all the calls. Virginia was being whistled just for breathing on Duke players in the second half. They won in spite of the officials, not because of them.

@@javtimestwo No it's not. John had the ball secured. Clark grabs arm and ball. Clark never had any possession. There is a photo on twitter that shows a clear foul. Oh well you're right. Be stronger with the ball or don't reward jump balls.
