A very nice area. I missed some of the obscure history and other comments, from the other videos. I peddle for about 1.08 hours while watching, as part of my training plan for the spring. You provide some of the best riding videos I have found.

Aw, thanks, man. I appreciate the feedback. I’m thinking of going back and redoing some of these older rides and bringing them up to date with history, famous people, wacky stuff. 😉 this trail is really beautiful and the history throughout is really amazing. Thanks for watching and again, thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, it’s a really cool trail. I was reading a biography about Pocahontas and the names and areas starting matching up as I rode. Very cool.

Here at Indiana, we have rather a flat topography, the southwest, Ohio River and the Wabash River is 600ft and the subsurface is made up of Limestone. But up to the north and east, Ordovician, there's the high point of elevation. Glacier Till and Eskars, and Moraines are very present from 40° latitude and southward to the Ohio. We're preparing Railway to Trails!!!! Monon, Cardinal, Cultural are very complete, open farmland at North and Watershed Glaciation to the South. Tipton Till Plane and Mooresville Moraine and Boone County Eskers are here at Indiana.

Thanks for the reply. I've got a brother in Indy and we have talked about doing the Cardinal but I wasn't aware of the other trails. That's fantastic. I'm a big fan of Indiana--great state. Thanks for watching!

WOW, sure brings up memories. This is where I grew up and went to school at W&M. I Had a Bicycle business there for 25 years just across the street from W&M stadium at Scotland St. and Richmond Rd. Sold it in 1999 and the person I sold it to had it for another 25 years. Never dreamed a business I opened in 1973 would go on for 50 years. Wonderful area with Jamestown and Yorktown. The Colonial Parkway is beautiful in the spring with Dogwood and Red Bud blooming.

Always happy to help people reminisce. It’s such a beautiful area. Regarding a 50-yr old bike business: just wow. That’s fantastic. Yeah, I’d like to do this trail in spring. Thanks for the heads up on the parkway.

Looks like you missed the trailhead in Jamestown and went into the city of Williamsburg. About 1600 feet past the Spoke & Ale stop the trail takes a turn to the right and follow until you, reach Jamestown Road and Trailhead. Crossing the Chickahominy River Bridge is a thrill!

Thoroughly enjoyed the video, loved the beginning. Quite the support staff you have at your disposal, production designer, casting, writer & the editor, Nayrb Reyemhew, you were lucky to snag him! And…. as your videos usually do, you have peaked my interest in this trail! 😉🤔🧐Thanks so much for taking us along!

lol. Nayrb has quite an ego. Yes, this trail is great. The colonial parkway is especially scenic as well. I always enjoy Williamsburg no matter the cobbled history. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it sometime. As always, thanks for watching. It’s crazy how this seems like so long ago!! Time flies.

Hi, Jen. It depends on where you get off of the trail. I’ve tried four different routes. If you end at Jamestown High School, you can head north to get on 5000 to 321 into Williamsburg. Or you can take 5 which is sort of busy but a straight shot. However, if you go all the way to Jamestown, you’ve got two other options: take 31 to 5 OR take the Colonial parkway which is really beautiful (however, it’s a long day in one big ride). I really like this ride. The countryside is exquisite. And I’m a sucker for Williamsburg in general. Next trip I really want to get over to Yorktown.

Is this trail relatively flat? We really need flat trails to ride. Thanks Hope to ride this one soon as my in-laws live in Williamsburg.

Not totally flat. There are a few rollers, nothing extreme and nothing very long. If you’re headed towards Williamsburg, it is more downhill. Google says the path climbs 550’ and drops 640’.

Gary, I’m curious how you watch these videos? Smart device, phone, tv? This particular ride was filmed in 1080 (60fps) and KZread rendered it at 480 (which sucks). I now record, since May, in 2.7k/120fps which gets rendered at 1080.

Video quality looks fine to me, as good as many on KZread. After all, it is not being shot by a high dollar production company. Thanks for putting up your videos for us to see routes and places to ride in other areas of the country.
