@@marcellebatshonkhoury1842 loved season 1 but I think they had to change it up a little by bringing more of the cast into the show and giving them airtime and I thought it worked. Whether it was Doc and Hope or Ricky and Lizzy or even Preacher and Connie I liked the storylines. I have seen a lot of people complain about how much time Charmaine and her pregnancy took up in season 2. I think it helped give more depth to the reason why Mel didn’t want to get in the middle of what could be a family if she weren’t a factor. Although we know how that ended. I really liked both seasons. Martin and Alexandra have such great chemistry!!! Can’t wait for Season 3!!!!

totally thought that at first, but truly surprisingly different, love both shows for different reasons, no matter way may seem similar at first!

this series is a gem. i just finished both seasons in 2 days. the cinematography is unique. after watching tons of korean dramas and suspenseful tv series from around the world this series hit home for me.. recommended to all those who are in need of little happiness and warmth.

If you're referring to the location, Hart of Dixie was filmed in Los Angeles. Virgin River was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

It does seem like the exact same premise. Loved Hart of Dixie so I’m going to give it a go.

This is a pretty decent show. There’s mature love, simplicity, no excessive use of drama or super intimate scenes. The characters were perfect, the scenery was soothing, loved the show. Watched both the season and now waiting for s3!

It’s nice that many find this series relaxing and heartwarming to watch, what with its wholesomeness, light drama, beautiful sceneries and all. But I also think it has a profound message: early at episode 3 of season 1, I'm reminded of the power of showing empathy and compassion to others - it’s a form of genius in and of itself that can inspire the best in people and make life a lot easier if not provide solutions to problems.

So basically “Hart of Dixie”. They even got the same actor to play the male doctor

HOD fan here and I actually loved this show 100x more.

This is my go-to heartwarming show. :) I adore the characters, their development, especially Doc's and Mel's. At the end of every episode, there's always such a cliffhanger that you can't help but to want to finish the entire season.

The represents very gentle and effective human reactions with realistic storyline which encourages a positive point of view to see the world. I've watched it in a time of depression and find it very soothing specially the third episode.

This trailer doesn’t really do the show justice. It makes it seem like a “Hart of Dixie” rip off but it’s so much more than that. Really enjoying the characters and storylines. I loved HOD but this show has a lot more depth and the characters are more developed.

I don't think the show is better than HOD. Yes, there is more depth but there are "gaps" not sure if they're in the acting or in the way the show has been scripted, but often there's no natural flow between scenes or interactions between characters. I still like the show and look forward to season 2 though.

The show is good. I enjoyed it. I lever liked Hart of Dixie--the little I saw of it. For one thing, I never liked the lead actress in that role. I don't think she was believable.

I’m almost finished with the show, I’ve never watched “Hart Of Dixie” but I really am enjoying it, the storyline is actually really good! It’s even better because I know most of the actors from other shows!

this show gives a very very charming peaceful vibe, everything the location the lead cast specially MEL is like fresh morning dew. I LOVE Virgin River

I have just been bingewatching all four seasons in just a couple of days and I am so impressed by this serie. I agree that this is a slow paced serie with real people and shows us how tough real life can be sometimes. The characters are interesting and not exaggerated at all. The emotions shown seem so real and the actors are perfect, everyone from the leads to the smaller parts. This is truly a gem and I can't wait for season 5. If you haven't seen it, it's well worth watching. I haven't seen Tim Mathison in a better role. His change during the seasons is remarkable. He was such a stubborn old goat at first and has become a much more humble person and Annette O'Toole is also fantastic as the mayor. She too has changed in many ways to a softer and more kind person, especially after her illness. All characters feel real, and I can't wait to see how things develop in season 5.

Definitely binge watched all of this already...

Enough with the Hart of Dixie comparisons. This show is based on a book which came out in 2007, four years prior to HoD. So, if anything, HoD is copying this. REGARDLESS, you can enjoy both. I just finished it and it was so much fun; a bit predictable, a smidge pulpy, but romantic, endearing and enjoyable. This is what you want to watch in the holiday season. Can't wait for season 2!

I had loads of Hart of Dixie vibe watching this, doesn't help that Tim Matheson is excellent as always lol. I felt like it was a positive thing tho? I kinda miss HoD. But it was more serious, less campy and cliche than HoD, which is a great thing. Anyway binged the whole thing yesterday and I loved it, was hoping I was late on the party on this and that s2 was coming sooner XD

season 5 is being filmed now ! I just finished watching all four seasons again for the second time.

One of the first things I did was google where was Virgin River filmed ❤️ of course it was filmed in an around Vancouver. Really want to go back one day and explore more of the area and wish I had moved over there before everything got as expensive as California

I'm just after finishing Season 1 and Virgin River is a great series. I wish for Season 2 to be come out as soon as possible because Season 1 has left me with two cliffhangers.

@@christianwatson1566 I'm hoping that Mel will not leave Virgin River and here's what I think. Maybe I'm wrong. But I hope that I'm not. I don't think Charmaine is pregnant. She could be lying to both Jack and Mel because she's jealous and she doesn't want them to be together. And even if Charmaine is pregnant, then the baby might be someone else's and not Jack's. As for Preacher, I hope he'll succeed to protect Paige and her little son Christopher.

Thunderbird Steel I do think that the baby belongs to Jack because you saw how Charmaine had fallen into actions of being in a long term relationship even though Jack said it wasn’t but because he doesn’t communicate so well look what happened. I do hope nothing happens to them because of the weed camp. I hope Mel stays.

@@thunderbirdsteel9939, that's not a telenovela. If she lied about the pregnancy, I will be super disappointed with the show. I hate those shows which portray one woman as the jealous and horrible one and the other one as an angel. This isn't realistic. Charmaine isn't a bad person. She is just in love with someone who wasn't 100% honest with her. Yes, Jack said he didn't want a relationship 2 years ago, but he was with Charmaine for that long, so she thought it meant more to him. She also said it's a miracle for her to be pregnant. Mel has her past and feelings too. I personally don't fully see proper sparks between Jack and either woman. I don't know, if it is not so good acting or something else, but I feel like things happened too fast between Mel and Jack. Anyways, my point is that I don't think either woman should be portrayed as evil.

Veronica Ivanova yeah I agree with you that I think they rushed Mel and Jack and sorta put Charmaine in there to stir the pot. There should be more development for Mel and Jack especially since everything that Mel went through in her past.

Everytime mel smiles or laughs, it brings a smile on my face too...is it with me or anyone else ? 😊

The storyline may be similar to Hart of Dixie, but the acting in Virgin River takes it to another level.

I recommend The Secret of the Nile. An Egypt tv series, for family. I loved so much. And it was interesting to see the secular, modern Egyptian women in 60'ies. (in Netflix)

Kordel Davis No, this is nothing like Gilmore Girls. The writing isn’t as good as GG. It’s okay. It could be better. Definitely a little bit Sparks though.

This drama reminds me of "This is Us". I've cried and smile watching it cos it is just so so real. A typical play of our daily lives and real relationship struggles .

I never saw Heart of Diexie, but I loved this tv Show on Netflix. I loved theirs actors, Alex breckenridge is a angel y so beatiful and Martin Henderson is a very good actor. He was on grey's Anatomy. Loved it!!!
