ABOUT SONG
Virah (विरह ) means separation. In this song an attempt has been made to revive the moment when Shree Krishna left Vrindavan and went to Mathura. His decision to go to Mathura was very surprising for all the people of Vrindavan. The separation from Krishna was a very difficult and heavy moment for the people of Vrindavan, especially his sakhis. Krishna was not a cowherd but the reason for their happiness for all the people of Vrindavan and Barsana. People's eyes yearned to catch a glimpse of Krishna, the brightness of his face was very divine and beautiful and his presence made the whole atmosphere blissful.
WHY DID KRISHNA HAVE TO GO TO MATHURA?
Lord Krishna has to leave the Vrindavan because he had to kill Kans and he was the son of Devaki and Vasudev. As his motive was to spread dharma (righteousness) everywhere so he had to move from his place. Lord Vishnu incarnated as Krishna to kill Kans.
