Looks really good Mark !
I love your patience and ability to improvise, Mark. It's great to see Lucifer beginning to look like a handsome beast instead of the rusty heap it was a short while ago. Good job, mate! Keep on keeping on! 👍
Hey Mark and Nay... Can't wait for the recent trip video. The Virago is looking real good. Nice to see it coming together. Thanks as always for the great vids.

Great work with the silver fin job mate!! Looks awesome contrasting the black! If a project went perfectly it wouldn't be as fun; you gotta overcome all the bullshit to make it worth it! And the payoff will be just that bit sweeter! Ride safe Mark

Thanks David and I can’t wait either! :-)
Main reason for holes in the gaiters is to let air in and out, when the forks compress so does the air inside and will leak out a little but when the forks extend it will not draw air in, so when that happens a few thousand times the gaiters get sucked in. So they are just breather holes. Bikes looking good Mark.

Brilliant... thanks for that! I might make the holes a little bigger then :-)

Don't forget to attach the vin / compliance plate back on the front? Light at the end of tunnel is getting brighter.

Nice pickup! I did the same thing after I put the shocks and stuff on! The Vin plate is now on! :-)
You should invest in a light diffuser to avoid having to much reflection on you bike. (When you couldn't find a way to show us how the find came out). It costs less than 20$.
you better get that on the mc jack before you get too much farther and becomes too heavy to do it. looking better and better each week. great video. leep on keepin' on. look forward to next week. 😀😎
Cool bananas!

Hey man, Have bought stuff from you guys for quite afew years now, (mainly Gotcha Straps N Sunnies of all colours). Am watching you rebuild the little Jappa 250, & just a tip you can use it or not. Watching the Headstock Bearing tightening the triple trees, you may want to re think & re tighten that nut up till it's relatively stiff. Once you put the rest of the front end on, there will be an even looser/smoother feeling to turn the bars. You might take it for a hundred clix & all is peachy, but as soon as you hit that 1st pothole, you may end up with the Headstock Bearings turning loose, & give a very noticeable knock, & the front brakes will get a shudder to them also. I'm not sure if you can retighten them easily afterwards, but if they are a pain to get to later, you will be saying words far harsher than the "Bloody" you usually say. Reconsider now to tighten them up till they are reasonably stiff, as loose bearings can be eaten up very fast. Goodluck, do it, or don't, it's not my project or money. Cheers...

Great stuff mate I will re access and tighten when I put the wheel on! Thanks for the heads up :-)
Prob a bit late now, but I have a feeling that ball bearings in a race like that need a gap of one ball so that they can move easily. Maybe head bearings are ok because they're not moving much so will not overheat and seize up due to friction? ps I'm no expert either! :) Glad to see you're keeping on keeping on.
When you put the stem for the front forks on you put a nut on the top of it and tightened it down. There should be a tab washer that goes under the nut that has a tab to bend up in the slot of that nut to keep it from backing off while you ride. Check it out..Would not want you getting sued over the forks falling apart..
when the manufacturers make their cylinders with the highlighted fins they machine them flat, and you got rounded fins it takes a bit of patience and power tools. I was once held up on a job due to a 35 cent grommet of all things, Oh on the steering stem nut use a shock spanner, its safer.
Great Video, well done :-) And I haven't even watched it yet :-0

You are making great progress. I am also building a xv250 and it seems like I make 3 steps forward but make a mistake and take 2 steps back. Do you have a mental deadline or are you just finishing as is?
Ordered 2 patches from your website last night mate for post to SA, keen to put them on my bag. Have the same bike, consider 17/38 sprocket upgrade if you haven't yet, changes the bike to a brand new one.

Mark, mate got my parcel today patches are great but THE BEST PART was the bloody magnet, my fiance' and myself have a thing for collecting magnets so that alone made the purchase worth it!
Looking great mate. Found your videos as I was looking up the 250 virago. Just picked one up in a hell of a lot worse shape than yours. So looking for ideas on fixing her up. Is there anyway you can show the carburetor hose connections. As the one I got has cut out the vacuum pump side.

Nice work and thank you for the video share. Can you please tell me what type of spray paint you used for the engine? Do you apply a primer on the engine before you apply the paint? Many thanks

Hi mate, More so the Yamaha oil cap. The bike I bought has been garaged for a few years and has corrosion on the cylinder head covers and the oil cap. Just wondering what would be the best approach to bring it up nicely like yours. Cheers for the reply!
I'll say it for ya mark for fucks sake bloody shock absorbers seriously looking really mate your an inspiration 👍🇦🇺

If you have issues you need to tell the ebay seller you will name and shame them to your 18k subscribers on KZread! I think that might change their mind!
Please buy a C-spanner for future head bearing adjustments ;)
There is no blood in the video. I am disappointed!
