great interview! i've been a big fan of Liviu for years. he's been so generous with posting his performances on youtube.

The Icelandic winner of the competition he refers to (whose name he cannot remember), where he won the silver medal, is Judith Ingolfsson.

Very interesting video! He talks about the choice between sports and music...I was one of 3 brothers and I chose music, although I was very sporty, and my brothers chose sports, although they were very musical. Ultimately, I am still playing music every day and getting the same enjoyment out of it as when I was 9, but I can only watch sports on TV because my body is getting older. His comment about Alberto Lysy is also very interesting - in Menuhin's autobiography, Unfinished Journey, he talks about his first meeting with Lysy and how much impact they had on each other.
