Menuhin ( who of course played without a shoulder rest) also advocated shifting with preparation, moving the arm/ wrist first and then the fingers
I love that this video has a jumpscare at 4:45😅
Very instructive and useful!
Very useful video! Thank you !
Love seeing Polly again! Her Russian scales were inspirational to watch. I'm still in the lower positions, but it's great to have references to solid technique as I improve. Thank you for the wonderful content, Professor Bushkova, as always. BTW - will you be doing livestreams again soon, or will it be a busy summer? Cheers!

Thank you very much professor Bushkova. It has been really a educational and inspiring demonstration.
Thanks a lot very informative 😃
Thanks so much.
It is very impressive for me to move the index finger switching by finger crossing. Sounds very smooth. Someday, I can do it😊

salam dari pulau bali wahai profesor
preparing the shift or make the sift after even in lower positions (1st to 3rd for example)? or just very high positions?
Thankyou Professor, very helpful. I have been having difficulty with the smooth shifts near the end runs of the Chopin nocturn c# minor ( I practice them as "scales") This was very helpful in starting to smooth them out. Though i am learning everything with 1 2 3 4 rather than 1 2 3 and rarely 1 2 1 2 . Same for first run on Ziguenerwiesen. Does anyone have any thoughts on this approach. I focus on having a pinky that is as strong as the other fingers . I think its a good way to learn. Pinky whenever possible. Like the trills at the beginning of the nocturn mentioned, pinky trills, good excercise. Thankyou again.

Do you mean, shifting up using 1234?
By preparing the shift, do you mean the thumb leads and shifts first?

It is easy to watch and listen but it is difficult to play..😂😢😅😊 good experience..🎉
You need small dainty hands to play up there as the notes are so close together.
Today's class is for the Harry Potter student.
