I liked the Strawbs while I lived in the UK (1972-74) thanks to the US Air Force -- RAF Chicksands, Beds. I have "Bursting at the Seams" (contains Lay Down and Part of the Union. Also enjoyed the Strawbs spin-off Hudson-Ford. Bought all the Lindisfarne albums that were out too.

Great finds Chris..I'm Paul btw...love Wishbone Ash Argus will always be my fave but also the 1st and Pilgrimage are great too...The Strawbs are a band I need to listen to more..dont know too much of them...Just subbed to you as well...great video here thanx for sharing and take care

Hi Chris - great finds here. Wishbone debut for £1, that is a bargain. There are a few labels variants on that one, you have the absolute first - not an easy one to find. Totally agree with your opinion on Pathfinder, it's one of the greatest prog albums ever.

Hi Chris, some great pick ups! Been a Wishbone Ash fan since 1971, both Wishbone Ash & Argus are very strong albums. For further searching I would recommend Pilgrimage, There's The Rub & New England. Wishbone still tour to this day & are first rate live. Also followed the Strawbs from around the same time & would point you in the direction of Hero & Heroine which is right up there in the Strawbs canon. Dave Cousins health is very poor & has announced the last live gig of the Strawbs will be at Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival in August. Happy listening!

Nice finds Chris. Never heard that Beggars' Opera album. I've had a couple of copies of Grave New World, great Strawbs album, very strong Dave Cousins songwriting. Captain Lockheed is great, Hawkwind meets Monty Python!...have you heard Calverts' follow up, Lucky Leif and the Longships?. I only have a best of Wishbone Ash, never investigated their main studio albums, although I see them all the time. Nice cheap pick up of John Renbourns' first..I have a few of his now, I think Sir John a Lot is probably my favourite. Good seeing you again.

I love that Captain Beefheart album. I don’t have any vertical swirl albums. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one.

Hi Chris. I’ve been looking for the first two Wishbone albums, but the copies I see are usually punched. That’s probably the Strawbs best record. I’ve had that Calvert album for years, very good. His next record was also a concept Viking record which is also very good. That Cale record is a stone cold killer. I have most of his discography, only missing a couple. Glad you found that CSNY, brings back so many memories. Fantastic car boot finds. So many Renbourne reissues. Cheers mate.

Good to see you have aquired some more Wishbone Ash Chris. I haven't heard thier first album but know some of the Argus tracks from previously owning "Live Dates" when it was first released. It's not often that I think this but I prefer the live versions to the studio ones. NB-Live Dates is back in my vinyl collection after selling it all in the late 80's!!

Did you go to the boot sale at 5 ways Mildenhall today there was a guy selling vinyl for a£1 each and good stuff there.some woman nick a record off me I pulling them out and she took one out of my pile
