I ran that same piston in my 468 with bushed, massaged factory 3/8 rods, pioneer bolts and a cast nodular crank with 2 bolt block, 300/306 Ultradyne and 990`s, 1050 dominator on pump gas 70 Camaro, 6.60`s in the 1/8th, on the motor. With a big 4 core radiator you could drive it on the street and lap it at the track. The gas pedal was like controlled violence, keep rolling......

These are the same fuckin' pistons I have in my 427. Made for Manley by TRW Box shows a man. date of 1998. I had to do some relief work in the combustion chambers on my 781 heads to get them to fit properly. Great pistons, there were millions of these fuckers made throughout the years!

You would have the L-88 427 version with a lower pin height. I have some 13-1 ICON pistons for a .060 427 I'm building. LS-7 was pretty much a L-88 built on a 454 shortblock.

Use em if you got em. Heck yeah, tons of extra low end torque from the extra weight.😎👍

Them old pistons were used in many badass racing engines back in the day. I remember back around 1982, Reher/Morrison sold a LS-7 454 crate engine that they redone. Had hogged out cast iron 990 rect port production based heads, 13-1 compression, 748/748 lift, 282/288@.050, 108 lobe sep. Extremely modified Holley Strip Dominator intake and a 1050 Dominator carb. They got 830hp NA out of that thing back in 1982. Still had the stock 7/16 dimple rods and stock forged GM crank. Pretty impressive even by today's standards. David Reher & Buddy Morrison were the best engine builders in the world at the time. Lee Shepard was the master at porting heads. Too bad he died so young. They been my hero's since I was young.

I remember a V6 Chevy Reher/Morrison built back in the 80s for a Comp Eliminator dragster, made around 675+hp NA turning 10,000+rpm. It was just over 300 cubes. Had twin 2-barrel Holley 500cfm carbs on a tunnelram. Hell of a 4.3 based V6. Although it was built on a Bowtie block with Brodix heads. They used to build alot of Modified Production and Econo dragster engines too. Best you could get.
