Vintage Skateboarding 1970s Huck Andress Freestyle G&S Florida Peralta Powell
Спорт
A short clip of Florida's Huck Andress doing some freestyle in 78 (I think). Note that he was sponsored by ACS trucks, and featured in ACS adverts in Skateboarder magazine, but is using Trackers on his G&S teamrider in this clip.

That's not the correct band.
I unapologetically love this 70's California stuff. It's everything I aspired to be, for better or worse, when I was a kid! DUDE! ; )

Nothing to apologize for. This clip is Florida. All of this footage was shot at the old Cadillac Wheels Skateboard Concourse in Pompano Beach. Check out my book, "A Secret History of the Ollie" which covers talks a lot about this movie and other 1970s skate history. www.Olliebook.com
Back then I remember I rode a G&S Fibreflex with California Slalom wide trucks and OJ wheels ! I would trade my car if I could have that exact board back now !

I just found here in my country the same Bahne board I had as a child, in the same color. The trucks are ACS 500 and the wheels SIMS. At the time, I upgraded the original Cadillac wheels to the same SIMS red. wheels when I was like 12 or 13 years old, so yeh, it is a great feeling to be reunited with an old friend.

One of the hardest tricks to perform. I agree.
I remember seeing Huck Andress in several editions of Skateboarder during the late 70's. Is he still skating?
I'd never seen those one footed perpetual 360's,,…. wow
what is the name of the band? is very cool !!!

@@42much1 Bahne kind of faded away after this. Once boards started evolving between 78 and the early 80s they never really kept up.
Skateboard madness movie.......
Love his McDonalds style.
It could be fantastic to live in the '70s '80s, but still...

1980 makes sense. There weren't many kick flips in 1978.

movie was filmed throughout the 70s and finally released in '80. There were a lot of kickflips in the 70s, but no Ollie Kickflip-aka-Magic Flip-now-known-as-the Kickflip until the 80s.@@wiscgaloot
SONG ?? !!!
Hi, in the Netherlands I work for an educational tv program called Studio Snugger (NTR, public broadcast). It’s for children in the age of 6 to 9 and every episode they have to guess if stories are true or false. For one of these stories we would like to use a few seconds (max 5 seconds) of this video. Hopefully we are allowed to. It’s for a story about skating in empty swimming pools. We hope the children won’t believe this 😊 Hope to hear from you. Best, Anne

Possibly not. Unless you are Isamu aged a bit older or as good as Mullen etc. Most modern flat ground/ streetskating is hit and miss. Back then smoothness of style and integrating tricks into routines mattered more. Not one off spectacular tricks. Also while today's boards can do more, the 'feel' of an 'oldschool' G&S type board (or Hobie etc) was softer and often made for a more smooth sensation than today's concave boards. Precision bearings were around back then. Plus let's be honest, most girls in the 70's liked guys with cars- not skateboards! What you see here is somewhat cheesy (even for the late 70's!) promotion, along with some great early kickflips and 360 variants.
song ?
what skateboards are they using?
What did they call oldschool kickflips before they were oldschool?

That a warptail?
To all you crazy fuckers out there, searching for this awesomly rad track: It was produced and written by Dennis Dragon and performed by a "Project Band" named "Trak II" exclusivly for the Soundtrack of "Skateboard Madness". It is not performed by the "Surf Punks" although it is possible, that members of the "Surf Punks" were part of "Track II". Keep shreddin' sharp!

Nice. It was cool to see early freestyle skating to a heavy 60/70s-style rock song. That was a really interesting era in time as the decades shifted...and somehow the 70s became the 80s (which became the 90s, and so on.)
@jdpowell19 very cool last name ;)

OMG! The bad old days when skateboarding was fashionable and no one thought that it would never end. Ha ha. How fkn wrong they were. Good thing too. Got rid of all the bullshit in the sport (sic). 😈

Kickflips, but not Ollie kickflips. This also might be from 1980, but still before Rodney Mullen invented Ollie kickflips. He even does a 180 one, pretty cool.
