Vintage Rain Bird HC-1260 Sprinkler Controller

This was a gas station find. Still has power connected, but not in use.
Looks to be from the 1980's. Not sure how to decode the date code "A HG" provided.
Possibly 1984 according to the serial number. Feel free to confirm, in the comments.

They are common in my area, and I’ve been around them my entire life. Don’t see too many mechanical ones, like this, anymore though.
