I saw Pink Floyd only once at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1973. They were touring Dark Side of The Moon. They played a full set of older music, had an intermission and then played Dark Side in it's entirety. They finished the first set with Careful With That Axe. The lights went down until it was completely dark and even though you knew that the scream was coming it was unlike anything we had ever heard before. Almost 50 years and many concerts later it is still my most memorable concert.

They likely stopped a nuclear war with their music in the 80's with The Final Cut album while Reagan was President.

I never got to see a show with Roger playing bass and singing with them live either, as I was too young. Hoeever, I did see and hear David and the others on therir (fake) Pink Floyd tours of 1987 and 1994. It's not Pink Floyd though without Pink, and we all know which one is Pink... It's Roger.
first song I ever heard about 50 years ago from pink floyd - and still love this song so much
Still of the opinion that this is a top 3 pink floyd song, each time I hear it that scream just gets more and more intense, easily pink floyds most ambient and disturbing song, one of the most underrated and overlooked songs of all time

The version Live at Pompeii is extraordinary too, and my favorite version of this song, personally.
Pink Floyd the genuis band of century !!!
When I first heard this I drifted peacefully with the ambient sound. Then that SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time I heard this was lying in bed high on acid with my stereo in my bookcase headboard in early 70’s. My head still reeling from all the lights from local hi-school fair. All I can say it was intense going thru my head back and forth
the way the light captures David's face makes him appear as a celestial being ❤
