    Definitely!! I loved this unboxing and I loved the style for this curator. Everything was just so beautiful and I loved that Alexandria was so excited about everything. I'm a lover of vintage myself and I found many of the pieces that Alexandria loved, I also loved. I have vintage crockery and silver and other bits and pieces like knitting and crotchet patterns that belonged to my great grandmother\grandmothers dating back to the early 1900s. I definitely want to see more vintage unboxing.

    Yay! I’m not the only one with cloaks. I have several full length cloaks, all homemade. I had my own as I grew and inherited my great nana’s as well as my nana’s cloaks. I wear them often. I kept all my small cloaks for when I had children and even made cloaks for our daughters throughout their childhood for functions. They have saved their wee ones for when they have children. 🍀🍀🍀

    @@Sorchia56 I love that! That’s awesome! I felt so fancy with my cape since I didn’t have any other extremely cool things in high school. My late mom was extremely amazing at sewing and loved to do it (a talent that skipped a generation with me lol). We couldn’t afford to pay $100 for a long cape so she made me one 100% nicer than the expensive store bought ones. I was a proud and thankful daughter for sure! It’s still a treasured item to this day ❤️

    My gram used to have so many of those packages!! She made all of my clothes (until 4th grade, when a boy said he’s be my bf if I wore pants sometimes😂😂so my gram went to the thrift shop and for me a pair of wind pants to wear to school the next day😂) I miss her!! She made dresses, she made my Halloween costumes, blankets, quilts, pillow cases, anything she could see, she did…she made me a Belle(beauty and the beast) dress for Halloween one year(in a very bubblegum pink)satin (even tho she struggled with the fabric) and it was gorgeous. I wish my mother held onto those things😭😭

    The first box was more just like random stuff from grandma's attic, which is fine, I love vintage stuff, but when charging money and then the star of the box, the music box, is broken, it isn't such a good deal. I can't remember ever seeing you as excited as you were opening the second boxes, they nailed it, everything was good and useful to you. I'd personally love to see more unboxings from them, mostly because of how happy they make you but also because I want to see what else they will send. Good luck on the packing, we moved 3 years ago and I still have nightmares about the packing, unpacking and the absolutely unprofessional owner of the moving company we used. I still have boxes in our basement that I will probably never unpack 😂😂 Thanks for sharing, this video was a much needed spot of joy in my day. You, of course, look as gorgeous as always.

  • @pinkheart315

    @pinkheart315

    Exactly! It was random like no theme. Some things were good but most wasn't. I would be upset if I got this. It isn't cheap. Also if your selling something than atleast clean or repair the things. The broken music box or the dirty plastic tray was very underwhelming. Also the recipes and dress patterns was confusing in a decor box. Like put it in a vintage cooking or sewing box. It's a pity if your not into cooking or sewing. By putting it in a specific box it could go to someone who would use it.

    We used to have a wall of wood slats in a den. When my folks remodeled in the late '80s the wall panel slats came down and mom used them for *decades* in her work as an artist. All the wood had grooves similar to that decoupaged burpee seed art wood panel. So it could have started life as a wall that someone has repurposed as art panels. Its usually nice wood because it's already mostly prepped (sanded smooth and stained).

    As a historian, I can guarantee that the decades you lived are very different from the way we encapsulate a decade as a social-historic construct. Whatever we 80s kids think about 80s aesthetic, remember that reality & vintage nostalgia are always dramatically different. There was an 80s craze a decade ago and it was almost entirely neon net skirts & chunky accessories, my authentic outfit was deemed "not 80s" by some little twits

    Fun story about hand making beeswax candles: I was about 16when this happened. so my local art gallery had some holiday workshops including candlemaking. It sounded fun so I signed up. Somewhere along the lines I had missed that this workshop was for kids under 12. So i turn up and the room is full of kids from around 9-12. The organisers were really sweet and said I was welcome to stay and join in if I wished. I have always gotten along well with younger kids so I said why not. I really wanted to try out candle making and I was already there. I honestly had a good time and got to help out the younger kids as well. But now always check for age groups for any workshops.

    That cape/cloak pattern was identical to the one my Mom used to make cloaks for my Sister and I in the 60's. My Dad's mother used to add a satin or fur lining inside for as she was truly gifted artistically and could sew anything. She was an artist by profession and she taught art and sewing in the 50's and 60's. Almost all of my artwork in my place was something painted by her. She had an art studio in Ogunquit Beach, ME. She did mostly oil painting but I do have an exquisite watercolour of lilies that she painted; she's probably rolling over in her grave knowing that the only grandchild she didn't like has so many of her art pieces 😂 I have vintage postcards somewhere (I used to collect them) and hopefully they weren't in a box that was left behind when I moved. If I can find them, I'm sending them to you. Some have really tender messages written on them 🥹

    I have trauma from eating jello salad with tuna. I think it was supposed to be regular gelatin and not flavoured Jello; my great aunt must've messed up every year and I'd be required to eat some. Mom stopped that when she realized I was literally ill every Christmas from it. We also asked her to do a fruit one with orange Jello instead and that was really good. Fun fact: Jelly molds were actually seen as a status symbol because you could essentially afford the refrigeration. They were also popular in the 50s with bits of meat since they had just finished rationing. (I did a full deep dive after watching Safiya Nygaard's attempt at a jelly mold and part of that was from what I went to school for - lots of histories were involved.)

    Hi! I don’t know if anyone commented to tell you this yet, but the plaque from 4:15 in your video is an icon. They’re very common in the Greek Orthodox religion. They’re basically paintings of religious figures, usually saints. From first glance, it looks like Mary (the larger figure) is holding St. Isaac of Syria (based on the description you read on the back). The back also mentions the Theotokos, which is the Greek term for Mary (the mother of Jesus). I grew up around many an icon, so this is very familiar to me. Just some quick trivia! 😊

    I love this and want to see more! I'm a vintage junkie and love all time periods, but live in a 1952 time capsule home so obviously keep myself in that era. ✨ I'm all about lots of color around me, yet I completely understand the allure of muted, earthy tones. They were both fun in their own way but the second one knocked it out of the park! There are pieces in the first one that could add fun pops of color and little surprises amongst the more subdued pieces.

    The statue is a £1.99 special from cheap shops and probably available for 10p in most junk shops in the UK, that's if they haven't just immediately binned them. At the oldest it's from the 80s but you could still buy them not long ago. Mass produced.

    @@SarahK86 no its not, that's the Georgian Era. To be exact Victorian Era is approximately 1820-1915. Queen Victoria's actual reign was 1837-1901. The attire on the figurine couple is almost certainly Victorian!

    I absolutely LOVED watching how happy this box made you. I really think you SHOULD do stuff like this. it encompasses so many of your favorite things. I envision you doing little bespoke boxes like this, adding in little stacks of your handmade paper, and hand poured candles.... I know you'd come up with equally adorable packaging and, with seeing how happy it made you to open this.... I can tell how happy you'd be while making these boxes. I mean its the biggest win win!!!! its boxes and crafting.... creating and vintage awesomeness all rolled into one cool project that woukd help your store, the channel and bring you so much joy. you can do videos when you put some together and explain cool things or your thoughts on the items. etc. go for it!!

    Suggestion for your little silver teapot: you could use it as a recipe card holder!!!! I don't know if you've got a box of your own little recipe note cards, or some you've collected from your vintage/thrift adventures, but I think the teapot would be the perfect size for holding a recipe up off the countertops if you're baking or cooking! Even if you're not big on that, just holding a really special little recipe card or something similar that you own would be such a perfect little stylized addition to any kitchen decor. 🖤
