So that's what that little glitter doll was from. I found it as a child on the fleamarket and kept it until now. It was one of my treasures as a child. I thought the glitter was magic and could make wishes come true 😂

I've been picking up new toys lately, too - and I tried for a long time to convince myself it was only stuff from my childhood, or only 80s, or only vintage in general. Somehow I kept expanding, because I realize I like other stuff too and was just giving myself false boundaries to keep my collection small. Sure, I don't really have the space, but I also don't buy a ton and it brings me joy, so I don't know. And learning about new toys (or at least newer than what I had as a kid) is sometimes as exciting as researching the history of the older stuff. Of course, the thrill of the hunt with vintage is amazing and the nostalgia of seeing stuff from my childhood, but there is also something special (and ironically nostalgic) about unboxing something brand new. And it's cool to see what's out there and how things progressed over the decades. When I was a kid and had Superstar Barbies, I liked them but I liked Kira/Marina more and always wanted dolls with more realistic or varied appearances. It wasn't really easy to find the other characters in the 80s, that came more in the 90s. And having several of the same character was kind of limiting and weird for play. So that's another reason it's exciting to see all the current Barbies and MGA dolls out there. It can be a bit of a rollercoaster with constant announcements of lines being canceled just as I get into them, but then again, I found the gorgeous auburn haired Barbie Extra at the flea market last week, so I guess they eventually pop up somewhere even when they disappear from store shelves. I've also had my eye on that Ken you got...and great to know that the Skipper-faced girl has saran hair. I was avoiding her since I thought it would be poly for sure, so it was great to see a more detailed review.

Thank you for your really detailed and honest comment 💗💗💗 I feel a little similar. I set the boundaries to "only vintage" to keep the collection smaller and cohesive and that is perfectly fine but it also limits me. So I will allow myself some modern toys if I want. But there is so much amazing vintage out there that I gravitate towards more most often so I know it will stay my main focus. Oh cool, you already found a Barbie Extra at a flea market. ✌ So far I've only seen one and she had barely any fashions left and was overpriced so I didn't get her. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I always learn something new when I watch you’re videos , I love watching the halls and seeing all the pretty dolls dresses and dolls and pony’s but I love to find out as much info about dolls as I can and then use it to recognise toys in the wild xx I love you’re hair and you’re clothes and you’re toys I take so much inspiration from you and I’m walking around and be people say to me you are so individual and unique but secretly I have you and other people to thank and others n for inspiring my looks and interests xx imitation and inspiration not sleeping I always think that it’s the biggest form of flattery I hope you take it that way anyway much love and hugs from the uk xx

I have a faint memory of the blossom beauty barbie... Maybe I had her 🤔 or was it a friend... I'm not sure but she seems familiar. The extra ken looks really cool. I like the hair! Also the Barbie extra with the pink hair. I love the look A little sad that your niece never unboxed your gift... But since you mentioned that she played quite roughly with her other dolls... Maybe it was for the better. Now you can have her in nice condition 😁

Yeah, for me it was luck that she never unboxed her 😅🤷🏼‍♀️ Sometimes you can't really grab why something seems familiar. I also have that with some toys.

Thanks for showing us which modern toys you like! I'm a vintage MLP collector and started collecting Barbies only last year. My idea was to collect the wonderful dolls from the 90's (my childhood decade) and only buy them from flea markets and thriftshops. After I had found a few, I became interested to see what nowadays Barbies looked like so I went to a toystore. I immediately very much disliked the new standard Barbie face (Millie face mold) and also thought Barbie Extra looked horrible. Mind you, the only Barbie Extra doll I saw in the shop was nr 9 with the half shaven head, not my taste! But then sometime later in another shop I came across Barbie HBV08 with the Neysa face mold. Very basic and simple doll but I thought her face was so beautiful! 🤩 She came home with me and it led to me checking out (online) almost every Barbie from the last few years. I had already decided that I didn't want to buy a lot of them (space + money) so I was picky about which modern Barbies I wanted to add to my collection. I also wanted them to all have different face molds. I picked: 🌺Barbie Extra no 14 (with the pink 90's Barbie logo outfit)🌺Ear piercer Skipper's friend HKD78, she looks great dressed in vintage neon clothes and I love the earring display stand 🌺Color Reveal Neon Tie-Dye Barbie with pink hair HCC67🌺Barbie Extra Fly black beach themed curvy girl 🌺Barbie Rewind Slumber Party Christie ☺ I may add a few more modern dolls in the future but my main focus is definately trying to find 90's Barbies in the wild!

We have such similar taste in dolls. The Barbie Extra you have are all ones I have or want! I don't have the Extra Fly Ken, but I do plan to get him because he looks great!

Ok cool 💖💖💖 I always have the feeling most people are either "only vintage" or "mostly new". So it is good to hear that a lot of you also go for some modern dolls as well 😘

I like to get new dolls once in awhile. Although, usually when I find a newer collector doll I like I’m too late and they’re already expensive. I wish I was collecting when the Haunted Beauty Barbie collection came out. I did buy a couple of the Barbie rewind dolls lately. I really like the red haired “nerd” one. She’s very unique.

Interesting! Nice to hear my viewers also go for some modern toys here and there. 💗💗💗 I'm personally not very interested in collector dolls. (apart from the Barbie Movie dolls which count as collector level I think and have this price range) Even with new toys I'm mainly interested in playline. But yes, I've seen images of the Haunted Beauty Barbie dolls and they are crazy detailed and high quality and amazing designs. Just not my eastetic 😅 as most collector dolls. I think if you pay for a subscribtion at Mattel Creations you will always be informed when exactly the new collector dolls are dropping. So you have a chance to get them. The Barbie Rewind series was also interesting to me but none of the designs convinced me enough since they go for a pretty high price point here. But I definitely like them!!!

Barbie Rewind dolls are still reasonably affordable here $20-30) I get what you mean by them not matching your aesthetic enough. I lot of them used too many dark colors for my taste too. I wish they sold the cassette tape stands separately though. I thought they were so cute.

Oh I didn't know the Blossom Beauty Barbie came with a little figurine. And thanks for the explanation for how her dress works. 💖💥 I picked it up recently and couldn't figure out what the string was for! Haha! 🤣😛 The Imani doll is gorgeous! 💕 I had to do a search for Butterfly Woman...never heard of that. The history is very interesting! 🌺🍓

Thank you so much ❤❤❤ But the name of the doll is Imani. And she was also called Imani in the US directly by Olmec Toys. "Naomi" was the previous doll line by Olmec Toys which they started in 1988. Naomi kinda evolved into Imani.

Blossom beauty is actually in a very good condition

I've seen dresses on photos on which the flowers are more open and less hanging but other than that, I also think she is in super condition. Especially having ring and earrings~ 🤩

Love these new dolls! I have the skipper face one. Love her. She's my absolute favorite. I'm hoping to redress her in a Totally Hair inspired fashions. Speaking of I finally found Totally Hair Barbie at the fleamarket. Both brunette and blonde only missing shoes and some accessories. I got the blonde one for 1.50 at one vendor and the brunette for 3 dollars. I was so excited! Their hair isn't even that bad, not too badly tangled. Sorry I had to share with someone who knows what I'm talking about. Lol Love both vintage and some newer Barbies myself. Great video! Hope your weekend is filled with fun and luck if you're hunting.

I also have an imani black sindy but she doesn’t have the mechanism in the back I thought there was only one of these dolls I must do sun more research in her . I also have the sindy from this line and a play set which has a large place in my collection and my doll room xx

Yes, there were a couple of Imani dolls that they brought over to the Sindy line. I can't say how many but at least a handful of different releases 😊 They are all very pretty 💗

I had that Barbie with the dress of flowers and I'm quite sure that she came with regular pink high heels. She was one of my last Barbie dolls that I got before I stopped collecting and playing with Barbie as a child. I am curious to know, how does the boil wash works? So you do that even on new dolls that you opens up as mint in box? By the way, I watched the whole video even if I don't like modern Barbie but because I like you. 😊
