Vintage Mego Space 1999 Alan Carter restoration - Toy Polloi

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a figure I have been wanting for a long long time to add to my Space 1999 collection. Alan Carter is one of the harder to find figures, so I was happy to get him in any condition. And with a small amount of work he ended up looking fantastic.

I'm astonished at how good the face sculpts are on these figures. Nice to see them being made whole again.

As far as I know Alan Carter is the priciest of the vintage Palitoy Space 1999 figures! Great vid by the way!

This was my favorite sci fi series and it still pretty much holds that honor for me.

Comlocks on wrong side of body. Also belt probably looks better with buckle on back to simulate wide flat surface on front for 1999. Great job on the painting and sewing it really smartened it up! A+ video. thanks.

+David Lane I found them most unhelpful, especially as they messed the order up. I still do not have the missing part :( As for Batman, I am still searching for one to restore as now I have Robin I need Batman!

    I loved Mego as a kid, I think I went through 4 or 5 Spider-Man dolls...wish I would have saved the parts.

Do you do a clear matte finish on your paint work? I have an army of vintage OOP 40K Squats and I was was wondering.

+Squirrel Killa It would be good? But I don't think I have the time to start something like that. Maybe someone else could have a go and I could help.

Don't understand how a current fashion trend (flares) and hairstyle (sideburns) was allowed in a futuristic setting. Surely, the exact OPPOSITE should have been implemented. Would the actors been paid more if they had to change their hair, I wonder?
