All of those fabrics you chose SewRena, you have that STUNNING cocoa complexion and you can wear those and look like a million bucks. If I put on any of those colors people would come up to me and say "Oh honey, I'm so sorry you're dying; how much time do you have left?" I would literally look like I was in liver failure. Any yellow on me and I look like I either have leukemia or liver ascites. JEALOUS of your complexion.

Wow! The plaid wools looks like what we used to make ponchos with in the early 70s.

Yes! I will share. I usually make her clothes in pairs so I’m currently working on the exact outfit but In a different fabric for her. So depending on how much she wears this one I will make the decision to cut into the vintage fabric. It is a safety net for me, because she always goes back in forth about wearing clothes I make.

I love that houndstooth for your daughter -I loved when the styles changed from fluffy to a line as a kid as I hated the crinolines that went with fluffier fashion. My Mum sewed me lovely pinafore jumpers and a line skirts.

That houndstooth will be beyond precious on a little kiddo. The green (olive?) and red window panel, my first reaction was ugg, and then I realized how gorgeous it's going to look on you personally and that my initial reaction was based on how godawful _I_ look in either of those colors. The penultimate would look fantastic in slacks for you and a vest for him.

So rena, i remember cotton clothing. One dress my mom got was dry rott quickly the armpits ripped. But in the day i remember lots of Cortton clitthing. The onlyone wouod wear thede fabrics wouod be the rich i think. Burmuda shorts pants n tops???? I guess i never seen any rich peoplecloths lol

I love it so much now. I think in the past I didn’t like it because I only saw it in black and white but all the color combos and even the black and white in a suit just pulls me in.

If I was to finally decide to make my pink and black houndstooth wool skirt suit, it will be fully lined and I still will have to make a slip to keep my skin from itching. I am sensitive to wool fabrics 🥺. It's not like I want to be sensitive. It's just how my skin reacts. Some things can't be helped 😊.

I am pretty sure I wore the red/green/yellow plaid when I was a child (in the 60s).
