I grew up watching my Guyanese Gran sew. She was a famous seamstress in Georgetown in the 1950s and 60s.
I am so pleased that you were able to go to Guyana for Christmas! Your grandparents must be so very proud of you! Moving on to your fabric: it was a delight to see your face as you described the fabric and what you expected to do with it. Your eyes came alive and you just glowed! I loved the video that you made with the swing coat and the lining that matched the dress. I really look forward to seeing what creative things you will do with this new haul!

I love this. I’m gonna write this everytime but having a Guyanese vintage influencer has made my entire month!!!! I’m going later this year to see my aunties and so excited to bring something’s my gramma left back with me.

Thank you it’s my favorite lipstick I wear it daily
That Tiffany Blue linen would be dope as an Audrey Hepburn inspired Breakfast at Tiffany's look, but I can't wait to see what you make.
I think Bernadette Banner has a how to video on pad stitching! Can’t wait to watch you learn!
I am so glad you got to go home this Christmas! And thank you for always being so supportive of my small business. ❤❤❤
Wait, wait, you're Guyanese!!!

Now I understand the #fascination for the 40s!!
Sending you love ❤ from Guyana 🇬🇾 . I watch your KZread videos.
I'm a Wisconsin girly, so outerwear is definitely a thing. I love making bright tailored jackets and coats! It makes those cold months a bit more enjoyable!

Same here, fellow Wisconsinite and sewist!
Just found your channel. Adele Margolis published a book on tailoring last century. I learned how to traditional tailor in the pages of her book. Yellow wool is hard to find because white wool ambers as it ages. It is the nature of wool. Make up your garment and wear it often before your beautiful yellow begins to dull. So glad I found your channel.
I did a chemise test at TnRF wearing cotton, silk and linen. Linen did best in all temperatures and weather. Silk next (and it was a light one!) with cotton doing the worst. So linen is all seasons!
LOVE IT ALL THE PHOTO OF BLUE 2 PIECE SO JACKIE KENNEDY 60'S LOOKING FORWARD TO ALL THE GREAT OUTFITS
Your look is da bomb! And I love every video you make. I like making floor length gowns so my go to yardage is five to ten. I use the cabbage for pockets and hoods.
Love the teal. Seems it is my new color everywhere.
Were you able to take your children along? That would have been so wonderful for your grandparents to meet their great-grandchildren!

HELLO 💕🫶🏾
A great fabric haul. The checked material is fun.
I love your idea to match coats with winter dresses. I’m still a beginner seamstress, so I can’t tackle quite that level of sewing yet, but you are so right about winter and outerwear… it makes the outfit!
Love it Sewrena!!!!!!!👍

@@SewRena I have thought about "I Love Lucy", she always has those ballet shoes, capri pants, and blouse, but...we will see☕☺️💖
That yellow is great! Also loved the blue your grandma gave you. I think you can carry off those bold colors so well. Also in love with the plaid you got for the pant set.

Woo 🇬🇾! I am thrilled to see a vintage lover from guyana. My father was born and raised there. My grandmother, who recently passed, would often make a dress in a day before going out. I’ve never gotten to visit Guyana but I hope to someday.

So happy to have you and I’m so sorry to hear about your grandma. Sending you love ❤️❤️
I adore linen.
So jealous of your linen finds! The BEST fabric of all imho. So glad you got to have a lovely time over there.
The fabrics are fabulous. It makes me excited to see what you will make.
v calming. your voice and cadence sounds like that of a friend filling me in about their vacation
The colors! 😍
That pink tweed would look fantastic in a suit, but sure whatever you make will look gorgeous.
I've never seen gingham in burgundy before. It's pretty and makes me think of late summer/early fall
Fabric colors are fantastic and pretty thanks for sharing 😊 7:34
Because we are freezin lol
You’re looking for sunshine or bright yellow. Some colors are harder ordering online. If you buy a lot from them consider buying swatches.
That jacket lined with the tweed!
I’ve done the fabric:pattern dilemma both ways. One or the other!
That first piece of fabric is stunning!!
All these colors are going to make such fun little outfits!
I'm all for a new coat!! ❤
Love the plaid tweedy yardage!
Gorgeous fabrics, I cannot wait to see what you make with it!!!
I think you are so sweet. I love your videos. I am a vintage sewing addict myself!
Hello Mrs rena I like your videos, speak very clear thank you ❤
The speckled plaid wool is my favorite! I can’t wait to set that set!🥰

All the fabrics in this haul are lovely, Serena, and how wonderful to visit your Grandparents in Guyana. I think the pink fabric, my favorite, is "boucle." Commonly used for Chanel suits. Happy New Year!
3:12 that teal fabric us so beautiful next to your face!
Will you show us how you do that beautiful head wrap?
Oh Stephanie has loads more for you! 😂 I’ll have to fabric haul through you because I’m in the UK and the cost of delivery is urgh… (And my fabric stash is also bursting… )
The teal fabric would be perfect for Easter.
Love your haul
Your sewing is fabulous. Sparks my sewing interest again…
Stephanie Canada is likely to find something else that matches a pattern!! 😂
Love all the fabric especially the pink! Can’t wait to see the finished product ❤❤❤
Hello from the Bronx, New York !
I'm a new subscriber!! Loving your content!!
Have you ever tried making a coat dress for winter. You can make one a swing dress style with a belted waist.
Cannot wait to see them all!!
The fabrics are beautiful. Love the tweed.
Beautiful fabrics, looking forward to seeing your gorgeous makes. I enjoy your videos very much.
Thank you for the fabric haul share. I'm lovin the plaids. Just completed my first plaid ensemble. Very proud of it, thank you for the encouragement. I'm looking forward to seeing your outfits using your new purchases 👏🏾.
ok but i love love LOVE that last black/brown white plaid
I don’t know where you live but in California it is rare you get to wear much fall clothing at all. Fabrics types used for trench coats are about all you need. Maybe make a vintage style coat in a medium weight fabric and color you like and then make several mix and match pieces such as slacks, skirts, sheathes, blouses etc. in an array of complimentary and nice contrasting colors. That might satisfy the need for coverage and the need to look as “vintage cute-classy” as you can make it. I saw a 195p retro bow tie blue trench ADORABLE just can’t figure out how to get the link to you. Site is Retro Fairy - SO CUTE.

Hahaha I didn’t have a choice when I decided to dress exclusively vintage. My winter wardrobe has never been strong because I struggle to make outfits that will be covered up
All of the fabric is just beautiful!! What is the average cost per yard, approximately?
I want to dress up modesty one day
🇬🇾 👊🏾
How did you get your fabric from Guyana to where you live? I love your videos.

@@SewRena-smart girl to take your fabric home in a suitcase. I think mailing the fabric and filling out all the customs forms would be a giant, expensive hassle. If I ever travel again, I’ll follow your example & bring an empty suitcase or two for fabric and/or yarn treasures I may find.
Are u from guyana 🇬🇾
I really want to get this small gift 🎁 to you😊 please help!!! ❤
