That is probably the prettiest daisy I have ever seen. Restored a few older ones from my Dad. You do things like this not for money, but the sentiment of the artifact and to learn as you go. VERY well done.

Very nice! I plan to watch this with my Father! While as a youngin' I had a .22 rifle before I had a BB gun and when I finally purchased one it was actually .20 cal Benjamin Sheridan Pellet rifle but I remember two of these Daisy's hanging in the open ceiling of our basement that were my fathers as a child. I think next time he visits I'll tell him to bring those with him, then show him this and tell him we're going to restore his. Thank you!

Safety first! I just ordered the Daisy Red Ryder BB gun today for 90€ 😂 I'm planing to replace the wood stock with a mahogany stock my father made, from an old window/door frame, around 35 years ago for us to play with. Just the bare wood stock and imagination was enough back then 😂. I kept it all the years and I will surprise him after I've finished the modifications. Thanks for this inspiring video! And all your other content as well, I think I nearly watched all your videos. Greetings from Germany

Great videos of wood working, I particularly enjoy the creativity. I’ve enjoyed many videos including the mammoth tusk. Keep up the good work and “don’t shoot your eye out”.

My Daidy from the 1960's had an actual wood stock and forearm. The lever was aluminum. It was painted from the factory. One of these days I am going to restore it. A blueing I have had better luck with is the stuff from Brownell's in Iowa. Your rifle with tha new stock is outrageously beautiful.

Safety first. As I’m watching this I’m amazed at the amount of money you put into this project. The wood, the reblueing. Then you mention the value of a “collectors item” being modified and the loss of value. It was an interesting thought. All that being said, what is the value to you? We all have things that are worthless that we personally highly value. We all have things we were given in the past that we want to make functional again. Why? Because to us they are priceless. Personally, I think your old BB gun looks awesome.

Found my dads old daisy while doing a reno in the basement. Been down there for 40 years and is getting rusty. Time for a new look! (Considering you did a damascus pump handle worth more than 20 dollars, you have in fact INCREASED the value. Theres MILLIONS of these things out there. Value for an original is still 20 bucks 😄)

Safety first, always. You could put an eye out with that thing... I'm talking about how AMAZING that looks "Restored", "Renovated", "Modified", call it what you will, I'd say it's worth a lot more now than it was with that 2 x 4 of a walnut stained balsa wood that the old stock was made from. That grafted wood was very cool, it never occurred to me that a grafted wood could be used for anything. (We grafted a lot of apple trees when I was a kid). Nice job. Scott from Japan

SAFETY FIRST You have inspired me to start restoration on the two similar Daisy BB guns I have. One was my Grandfather's and the other was my Dad's and I shot both when I was a child in the 1960s. I really don't know when they were made/purchased but they both are at least pre-1965! Both have been in my basement since 1985 and have a good layer of surface rust. THANKS for re-posting this video! SAFETY FIRST

I love how you put safety first in your videos. I’m impressed. I think there are some parallels to our approach to carpentry. I’m a union carpenter out of Portland and I am a little quirky about my tools. I’ll spend extra time making or modifying a tool to make it perfect for me. Nobody seems to appreciate it like I do until they need it and they stop giving me a hard time till they give it back. It’s funny.

Safety First! This was fun to watch - thanks Cam. I always use the bluing solution on copper pipes etc in the house when they have to be surface mounted, way better look than paint.
