The 540 was insane. Mac got it first try and stuck the landing. He nailed all of his dunks first try and didn't fall down but the 540 was a whole other level.

When Vince Carter was drafted 5th I thought he would turn out to be a bust. I thought he was a great dunker at UNC but his game was not nearly complete enough to excel in the NBA. Obviously I'm not an NBA scout for a reason. People will always think of his dunks first but he was a very well-rounded player who not only was an 8-time All-Star but was able to keep playing into his early 40s.

When vince says it than its a stamp of approval!!!

Clearly the kid knows that's probably top 3 iconic moments in NBA dunk competition: I believe he was paying homage.

Vince makes a great point, Mac wanted to be in it and win it.

I don’t follow basketball but Mac is so amazing! He will go so far! And Vince is so cool and chill.

360*. Don’t even argue. Use pause and you clearly see he leaves his feet with his back to the basket and dunks with his back to the basket, that’s one rotation. The spin of the rim after the ball has been dunked means absolutely nothing, 360

Give him some real playing time in the NBA, none of this quirky 10 day / two way contract BS. 20 minutes a game for a chunk of time and he’ll hold his own. Period.

I don’t agree with ja Morants behavior and he might not be stressed out but if he is the partying, drinking etc. are instant stress relievers. Just because it looks likes he is having fun on the outside doesn’t necessarily mean he is not dying in the inside.

Mac the only slam dunk contest winner that knows how to read. Very impressive

So excited for him, Ja Morant and the Best NBA dunking stars must participate next year, that will be epic if it happens.

Unfortunately his game doesn’t translate well on an NBA court. He’s been on Lakers organization, Warriors and now Philly in less than 2years. He’s too inefficient, not great handles/court vision, and too small defensively. Gotta have an NBA skill and unfortunately just dunking and creativity not gonna cut it. He has great character though hope he proves all of us wrong and comes back for next year dunk contest vs Zion!

Not really... Mac has a lot of talent with the ball in his hands for sure, but he doesn't defend that well and he isn't very good off-ball. Those are two things that are all but guaranteed to help a young player carve out a role off the bench, so not being good in those areas have been a big reason why he hasn't stuck on any one team. Just is what it is, but he's fun to watch no doubt
