China's Largest Glacier On The Tibetan Plateau I S2, EP82

I am traveling from East-Tibet's lake Ranwu to the Laigu Glacier area, which is the largest and best preserved glacier area in Tibet. It is the third largest glacier group in the world.
On my way I stopped by a spiritual Bhuddist house where some locals formed clay statues to commemorate and merit Bhudda. This tradition is repeated every 4th month of the Tibetan calendar which is the second most sacred event of Tibetan Bhuddists.
Later on, I continued traveling to Yarlong Glacier and three of its neighboring glaciers. Some locales guided me to a short glacier hike, eventually ending up in an ice cave that was melting due to the sunlight.
Join me on this surreal trip through the Tibetan Highlands 🎬

Another amazing episode. You are an extraordinary person and documentarian. You show a side of China we simply don't see. It is so touching. A group of village women drying sweet potatoes, a Tibetan woman taking a smoke break while cutting grass, a walk through a market in the countryside. You are so respectful and sweet with those you meet. What an inspiration you are. From Oregon, USA.

The US says China is committing genocide in Xinjiang (I know it's Tibet) but the fact is the minority population in Xinjiang has increased by 123% compared to 1960s. What kind of genocide does the population get bigger and bigger? And the United States says China is carrying out cultural transformation in Xinjiang. In fact, you can watch many videos of bloggers traveling in Xinjiang. Local children and adults don't even speak Mandarin, only can speak their own language.Even in this video. Tibetans, still maintain their own culture

Thank you! First, I love the cabin where you stayed; I grew up in a relatively old house (relatively old for the USA, that is), and its walls, floors and ceilings were all wood, so I am drawn to that type of building. The part where you are talking with the children (they are adorable!), in the background, someone is using what we used to call a rototiller, to prepare the garden; my family had one, and, when I was about the age of the little boy, it used to fascinate me, as well as scare me (ah childhood!). When you flew the drone over the village and surrounding area, I was awed by the beauty of the landscape; where I grew up (Georgia, USA), although the area had many farms, the landscape was heavily forested, so a relatively bare landscape is so different for me. When you were on your way to the glacier, I thought, "Well, if I was on that trip, I would skip that! Rough roads, snow, hidden crevasses, cold wet feet?! No thank you!" But then, you got to the ice cave - that part was stunning (and I rarely use that word because it is so over used, but in this case it is true)! The aquamarine colored ice! The pebbles suspended in the ice! That was when I realized why people make the effort. Thank you, again, for all that you do! It brings joy!😊

Yan, you bring to the world such a wonderful narrative of things I know I will never see. But now because of you I can now see. Thank you for your bravery and being "Brave Yan" in all you do. I find the people you connect with amazing. I get tears in my eyes because they are the same as me, but all their differences are so wonderful and life-giving. Thank you again and BE SAFE!!! Love to you from Wang Lei Mai and Tony

Of course. Do not accept western propaganda about China (including Hong Kong) uncritically. Better to visit real places and look for yourself. That applies anywhere and everywhere.

Подписался на вас несколько месяцев назад и теперь не пропускаю ни одного эпизода. Спасибо за удивительные уголки Китая, до которых не доезжает обычный турист.

Wow ! What a stunning video the scenery was inspiring, the ice cave was well worth the effort. I really enjoyed the segment of the local villagers creating the Buddhist moulds, so nice to see a community come together, enjoy each other's company and keep the old traditions alive. How long did it take you to get your feet warm, they must have felt like ice ? Made me recall when I was in England during winter in the late 60's standing at a bus stop with my hands, nose & feet feeling like they were frozen. Then about 10 mins in the office and it was so painful as your feet slowly came back to life. Quite happy to watch, but I think I'll keep away from the cold myself. Stay safe & keeeeeeep warm.

That motorcycle ride over rock and mud on the slope of a mountain was hard to watch, but Yan's unbeatable positive attitude is an inspiration. Nice to be reminded of the extreme beauty of the world, especially during these times we find ourselves in. Thank you.

Absolutely fabulous. It's amazing to be 72 y/o and have never seen any of the scenes you video'd. Terrific work. If only all of the world could see your videos and commentary. Thanks
