The project centered around creating an interior environment that promoted a better quality of life upheld by copious amounts of natural light, genuine and honest materials and a spatial articulation that embraced the indoors and outdoors. Considering that the bungalow is located in a densely populated locality, these factors became crucial in establishing a soothing, serene living space for the busy young family who called this their home.
The house is a response to the client’s desire for a sustainable, cost-effective home inspired by nature, connected to the outdoors and awash in daylight. A unique feature of the home is the multiple access points to the outdoors. “We wanted the spaces to blend together cohesively, and we didn’t want any of the rooms to feel redundant. We also created a sense of warmth and cosiness in the home with a cohesive colour palette and plenty of room for entertaining and relaxing,” state the designers.
