I respect your opinion but i think different , all that on side he is still unbalivable character and that actor Alex did amazing job in that roll, also why dont nobody gave respect especially to Travis and all the other actors on this show, people are talking about GoT and others shows but acting here is second to none.

I really think “Who wants to be king?” is one of the most memorable and best quote of this show. Like “I am the danger” in Breaking Bad.

"I just left" with that little swag dance. One of my favorites parts of this show.

He did recognize his sons. He just cracked a joke about Ivar.

Ubbe looks like young Ragnar.

When Ragnar leaves Kattegat (After the Battle of Paris) Ubbe was 10 years old and Hvitserk was 9, so when Ragnar reappears, Ubbe and Hvitserk are 20 and 19 years old respectively. On the other hand, Ubbe is the closest to Ragnar when he was young, and Ragnar does recognize each one of them (Something like when he jokes telling Bjorn "And you are? When he sees him big) since he names Ivar and Hvitserk, with nothing more to add WHO WANTS TO BE KING ?!

I was low key proud of Rollo. Yeah he betrayed his people, but he found his place in the world and he and his army beat Ragnar and his str8 up. Him walking into Paris beaten, battered, yet victorious brought a tear to my eye a bit.

I have lost count of how many times i've seen ''Ragnar yelling: Who wants to be king!?'' Just an unbeliveble performence by Travis, 10/10. ** I have also noticed from watching this countless times that Ragnar keep asking: who wants to be king. And the people have obviously seen what a burden it is to be a king, so they are scared and unsure to take the throne, it just ''screams'' Alpha from Ragnar. That's how a king should be ** (You can also see at 7:42 , when Ragnar yells: who wants to be king, that the people in the background takes a step back. Like ''no thank you, throne is all yours'').

You guys took the mid-way time jump a lot better than me! Suddenly introduce the sons as new adult characters out of nowhere nearly broke me

Since the beginning of the series you can see Ragnar's eyes get all bright and them Bjorn's eyes, and now Ivar's eyes. It means something, usually happens in moments when they are very obstinate to do something. You can see that Ragnar's eyes got all grey when he lost his will to conquer and to grow. Now he is actually a failure! Conquered by his own ambitions.

Been waiting for this one!

Seeing this for the first time (meaning idk how the series progresses), I think the “Who wants to be King” scene’s meaning is that, no one wants to be King, Ragnar himself was forced into every power position, even though it wasn’t his desire.

Remember, that for the Vikings it was in the fame and glory, their legacy was defined. And Ragnar was told by the seer, that his sons would be more famous than him. So he was fighting for more and more glory to avoid this, but eventually kept on loosing. Why he disapeared, and returned for what we are about to see. Ragnar Lothbrok. the best character in all tv and film.

I hope you guys are ready man, the next few episodes in my opinion are some of the best in the entire series of Vikings and some of my favorite personally in television in a while. Just take it all in and enjoy it!

In Aslaug's defense, her husband ditched her with 4 kids and their marriage was definitely on the rocks. He was also a drug addict the last time she really saw him and she wasn't doing all that well herself dealing with Ivar being sick, heartbreak (even though I hated the wanderer), and her drinking. Ragnar was gone for 10 or so years, that's a long time. I think she's just bitter but I don't really blame her. I really enjoyed this episode and the rest of 4B. It’s probably my favorite aside from season 2 and the season 3 finale.

Aslaug always sucked and Ragnar never loved her, not even in the beginning. She just enchanted him in the forest and he was stuck with her. He wanted to create a legacy and have many sons.

@@andersonprimer This is a lie. Aslaug did not suck. Let's be honest, people were just mad because Ragnar cheated on Lagertha and they fave Lagertha, so Aslaug is automatically hated. Not Aslaug's fault, Ragnar already had it in his head to be unfaithful before he ever met Aslaug. Lagertha knew it and so did Ragnar. Ragnar literally asked the gods _who_ will bear me my sons? After many months of Lagertha being infertile after her miscarriage. Aslaug is blamed for Ragnar putting his own desires and ambitions over Lagertha, and everything about her is criticized, but when you look back, Aslaug was a genuinely good woman and wife for most of the time. She was kind to Lagertha, a good mother to her sons, freed Porunn just for Bjorn to be happy, and cared about what happened to Porunn, openly defended keeping Ivar against all dissent, and tried keeping Bjorn and Porunn as a family with their baby together, etc. She made some big mistakes of course, and those mistakes were _constantly_ rubbed in her face by her husband, while giving her _no_ credit for the good she did. Aslaug did not enchant him. If she had, she certainly wouldnt have had issues with Ragnar all this time.

@@roseofthegarden_ Aslaug becoming a bad person has nothing to do with hooking up with Ragnar. She steadily becomes a scumbag over the course of the show. Thorunn is a scumbag too. Honestly most of the characters have their share of faults, that's what makes them such good characters.

@@andersonprimer Yet Aslaug is treated like the worst piece of shit that ever lived, while say Ragnar is often woobified in the relationship. Like he didn't literally neglect and abuse her. She didn't just become a bitter woman. She went through years of neglect and insecuriry from her husband who clearly still loved his first wife and all but confirmed he did not even love her after over six years of marriage, which is the only reason she cheated in the first place. He then refused to stop judging her harshly and mocking her for her mistakes, and then attacked her (slapping her around). I get none of them are perfect, but I'm just tired of seeing folks drag her like she's devil incarnate, like nothing she went through mattered or contributed to her shift in personality. Fact is, Aslaug in the beginning was genuinely kind and compassionate and helped those she didn't need to, and not to her own benefit. But she never gets any credit for the good she does, and get a double blame for the bad.

i hope you guys watch the extended versions of the second half of this season. Certain moments have some cuts that are so much more powerful when seeing the full scene. besides that, love that you guys are getting into this part of the series. the kids are young adults now, and some of my favorite moments and episodes are in this half.

Yea...a couple days ago I saw a clip of extended versions on utube when Jarl Borg was getting blood eagle. Man, It was brutal. His wife fainted and Rollo had tears in his eyes. And also, there was a clip where it shows Ragnar, Aslaugh and his ex-wife in bed together and Ragnar had this big grin on his face. Lol

@@retromousex5118 lol, i didn't even realize the reveal of the threesome was a part of the extended version. kept being confused why certain reactors didn't show that clip, with how much most of them hated Aslaugh. I guess that explains that most of them didn't see the extended version.

Nope. Aslaug did it. She is a Princess, you don't think she learned this stuff when she was young? What about all the times Aslaug was left behind while Ragnar and Bjorn were on their trips? Who managed the place then? You don't have to like her, but that doesn't mean taking away her accomplishments. Bjorn has a life to live, he probably was on trips with other Vikings, living his best life.

I know there is a medical condition called osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bones) where the whites of the eyes are blue- I did wonder when they showed Ivar as a baby if they were saying he had that. Although it would affect more than his legs.

They color the sclera of Ivar blue in most of his scenes. It is supposed to be caused by his condition. The more blue they are, the easier it is for him to break a bone.
