We just got a vitodens installed. Beforehand I ran central heating cleaner in the (hot) system for a couple of weeks. I drained it hot, and then flushed it (not power-flushed). A lot came out!!! And before the flush I noticed that the boiler became quieter.

It's funny because in Germany they don't even bother with Magnetic filters. The WB1A is an average boiler (with rubber hoses that Vaillant scrapped 10 years ago). They get a bonus point for using stainless steel heat exchangers (embarrassing for Worcester). Everything else is just your usual run of the mill plastic/generic crap. The spare parts price for these are horrendous. Unfortunately UK installers think inhibitor and a magnaclean mean they can ignore good installation. If you want a good boiler the only sensible conclusion is fit Intergas.

Thank you to start with. How come i never heard of intergas boilers before today???!!! When my current boiler dies this is the only boiler i will get. I HATE diverter valves whether it's made plastic, copper or metal, it is most annoying part of all conventional combi boilers.

Hello I have a Viessmann boiler with Vitodens 222-W WS2A 35kw tank that is 15 years old. I was told that I can turn the pump to put a larger exchanger. Mine is a BP 10 - 20 plates apparently we can put a bigger one in BP 10? I do not find

Same problem in the Vaillant Ecomax and early ecotec boilers.........I Agree with KB.......Rubber hoses just attract the system crud and also get brittle and in worst cases split under pressure !!

I am personally not keen with the rubber hoses TBH either. new ones are copper now.

Question: I am having an issue with my boiler WB1B. I had a power surge few weeks ago which it stops the boiler from operating/turning on. I had to replace "pump control board" due to bad transformer and now the main control board fuse (2.5A) blows every time i connect the fan harness to the board and turn unit on. any idea if its the fan assembly or something else before i start replacing more parts? Thanks Allen.

You need someone with multi meter knowledge to test the components, Thanks

believe me mate I have seen hoses solid, installers haven't the first clue about system water quality nor do they even seem bothered. Filters (good ones) such as magna clean are essential and anyone who says otherwise is a fool

I work on Viessmanns on a daily basis, and this level of contamination is very common, and many of these boilers already have either Magnaclean or Fernox TF1 filters fitted. The filters usually have little or very little in them whilst the plate heat exchangers are clogged. Filters are no substitute for thorough flushing.

The hoses do get blocked but i do find they are great for been able to clean out.

I keep getting carbon build up inside the combustion chamber. It clogs the drain and I get water (from combustion) leaking everywhere. Any ideas?

I believe that Viessmann do not like inhibitors in their system.For me a damned good cold mains flush is good enough or certainly should be. We have now fitted 2 050’s Combi boilers And at some stage very soon they will need a strip down service and probably the rubber hoses cleaned out too.

not flushing obviously and hoses are the biggest problem, like magnets themselves!!
