Vienna's most important Baroque church, built by architects J. B. and J. E. Fischer von Erlach. Unfortunately, when I visited the building, one of the triumphal columns was surrounded by scaffolding. Inside, the church is magnificent. However, the famous dome was spoiled by a temporary installation. A church like the Karlskirche is not an exhibition space for the kind of modern art that has to (ab)use an existing masterpiece in order to obtain relevance!
