മൈത്രേയന്‍ പറയുന്നത് വളരെ കൃത്യമാണ്. എന്റെ ചേട്ടന്റെ കുട്ടി മൂന്ന്‌ വയസ്സേ പ്രായം ഉള്ളു. ലോക്ക്ഡൗൺ സമയത്ത്‌ യൂട്യൂബ് പോലുള്ള ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് അക്ഷരങ്ങളും സംഖ്യകളും വസ്തുക്കളുടെ പേരുകളും പറയാനും എഴുതാനും പാട്ടുകൾ പാടാനും ഡാൻസ് ചെയ്യാനും പഠിച്ചു. ഇത്രയും ചുരുങ്ങിയ സമയം കൊണ്ട് ഇതെല്ലാം പഠിക്കാൻ പറ്റുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ മറ്റു കുട്ടികളോട് ഇടപഴകുന്നതിനും കളിക്കുന്നതീനുമപ്പുറം സ്കൂളിൽ വിടേണ്ട എന്ത് ആവശ്യകതയാണുള്ളത്.

14 വർഷം സ്കൂളിൽ പോയി..+2 കഴിഞ്ഞു കൊറോണ ആയി, വീട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ഞാൻ internet ലൂടെ സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിക്കാത്ത പല കാര്യങ്ങളും പഠിച്ചു,അറിഞ്ഞു.... എന്റെ 14 വർഷം വെറുതെ പോയി.5 മുതൽ 12 വരെ girls സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിച്ച ഞാൻ അതും convent സ്കൂളിൽ. നല്ല അടിമകളെ ആണ് അവർ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. പിന്നെ ലിംഗ സമത്വം അവിടെ ഉള്ളവർക്കു അറിയില്ല..,body shaming..... സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പോലും ഇല്ല. അടച്ചിട്ടു വളർത്തൽ തന്നെ.

എന്റെ sister convent സ്കൂളിൽ ആണ് പഠിച്ചത്.എന്റെ father doctor mummy nurse ആണ്.ചില parents കുട്ടികളെ convent സ്കൂളിൽ മാത്രമേ ചേർക്കു കാരണം അവിടെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചാൽ കുട്ടികൾ അടിമയെപോലെ ആകും.parents എന്ത് പറഞ്ഞാലും കേൾക്കും എന്ത് ചെയ്താലും ഒന്നും പറയില്ല.കോൺവെൻറ് സ്കൂൾ ഒക്കെ ഹിറ്റ്ലരുടെ concentration ക്യാമ്പ് പോലെയാണ് .കുട്ടികളെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു കൊല്ലുകയാണ് അവരുടെ aim. പെൺകുട്ടികളുടെ കാര്യം ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോൾ വിഷമം തോനുന്നു. convent സ്കൂളിൽ ചിരിച്ചാൽ വരെ punishment കൊടുക്കലാണ് പരിപാടി.കൂട്ടിലടച്ച തത്തക്കു ഇതിലും ഫ്രീഡം ഉണ്ടാകും.

കുറേ സത്യമാണ്. Pre Degree കഴിഞ്ഞ് മൂന്ന് കൊല്ലം ഒരു കോളേജിലും മൂന്ന് കൊല്ലം മറ്റൊരു കോളേജിലും ഇരുന്നുറക്കം തൂങ്ങി ആ സർട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ് വെച്ച് ജോലി ചെയ്ത് ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നല്ലാതെ അവിടെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചത് പിൽക്കാലത്ത് അധ്യാപനവൃത്തി ചെയ്തവർക്കില്ലാതെ ഉപകരിച്ചു എന്ന് തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ല.

സത്യമാണ് Maitreyan പറഞ്ഞത്. Europe ലെ സ്കൂളുകളിൽ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് യൂണിഫോം പോലും ഇല്ല. വെവ്വേറെ ഹോസ്റ്റലുകൾ ഇല്ല. ആൺകുട്ടികളും പെൺകുട്ടികളും എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചു താമസിക്കുന്നു.

യൂണിഫോം ഉള്ളതാണ് നല്ലത്. ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ പണക്കാരന്റെ മക്കൾ നല്ല വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ എന്നും ധരിച്ചു വരും, സാധാരണക്കാരന്റെ മക്കൾ peer പ്രഷർ കാരണം അപകർഷത അനുഭവിക്കും. പിന്നെ വിവാഹ പൂർവ ലൈംഗികത വളരെ നല്ലതാണെന്നു കരുതുന്നവർക് ആണും പെണ്ണും ഒന്നിച്ചു ഹോസ്റ്റലിൽ താമസിക്കുന്നത് വളരെ സൗകര്യമായി തോന്നും 😅

ഈ കാര്യം ഞാൻ ആളുകളോട് പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് ആർക്കും മനസിലാകുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. ഇനിയുള്ള കാലം നന്നായി subjects അറിയാവുന്ന നല്ല simple ആയി യുക്തിയോടെ വിഷയം അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ മതി. അവർ ഓരോ subject ഇലും എടുക്കുന്ന recorded class കുട്ടികളില്ലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചു കൊടുത്താൽ ഒരു കുട്ടിയും പൊട്ട അദ്ധ്യാപന്റ class attend ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വരില്ല. ബാക്കി അദ്ധ്യാപകർ കുട്ടികളെ guide ചെയ്താൽ മതി, പഠിപ്പിക്കേണതില്ലാ 👍.അദ്ധ്യാപർ കാണിക്കുന്ന bias ഇൽ നിന്നും സമൂഹം ഇടപെട്ടു കുട്ടികളെ മുക്തരാക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. അതോടൊപ്പം സമൂഹത്തിന് കാലത്തിനൊത്തുമാറാനും കൂടുതൽ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്താനും കഴിയട്ടെ 👍 അതോടൊപ്പം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കുട്ടികളെ അദ്ധ്യാപരുടെ പേര് അവരുടെ ആദ്യം class തലം മുതൽ വിളിച്ചു ശീലിക്കാൻ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കണം. അതിലുടെ വ്യക്തികളെ respect ചെയ്തു പേര് വിളിച്ചു ശീലിക്കാൻ school തലം മുതൽ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കണം. നമ്മൾക്ക് നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹത്തിൽ തുല്യത കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഇതുപോലെ ഉള്ള മാറ്റങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവന്നേ മതിയാകു. ഒരാളുടെ പേര് വിളിച്ചാൽ അത് മോശം ആണെന്ന സാമൂഹിക ബോധം ഇല്ലാതാക്കിയെ മതിയാകു.

As for the Schooling system, it s a laugh. All over the world, things are more or less the same, if experts are to be believed . Scandinavian system is supposed to be the best. Maybe right. For, they dont' teach their young ones. They follow three day a week system, I think. And they are yet again going to cut it short to two days a week. Anyway, what's the relevance of school in the changed scenario? I dont know . Even today indian students spend excordidant amount of time and mental energy learning multiplication table by heart. They are not allowed to use Calculators either in classrooms or in examination halls. whereas in developed countries, the students learn at a very early age how to use scientifcalculators. Our attitude towards Google is excatly the same. Teaching and learning Process takes place as if it doesn't exist. We still dont know how to incorporate Google in tour curriculum. uneducated on how lo be creative, howe to add our own contribution to the already existing info-bank, our students cut and Paste google pages and Submit them as their own assignements. From very young age they become adept in thievery. It doesn't end there. For us, beatiful Cursive writing is one of the fundamental know hows a student should have. We torture the kids from the very early age to master the art of Cursive wrting. Some master it, many fail. At the same time we conveniently forget to teach students the art of using keyboards. How many of our 12h graders know how to use all the keys on Computer keyboard. How many even know how to type. And how many will be using a pen or pencil to draft a letter in their professional life? in near future all the knowledge available till day could be digitalised in a single microchip and the same could be easly embedded into a growing foetus. And the booster doses could take care of the knowledge as she grows up. May be a fantasy, but since the interface between the knowledge and the user being the barest minimum at present ,what's the role of schools as knowledge providers? you may answer that schools promote Creativity. My friend, the very raison d'être of the school is to massacre creativity. It is through schools the State mould generations to its whims and fancies. Schools pay lip service to creativity to conceal this very fact. Creativity is a very dangerous thing and a conventional state which more or less depend on muscle power is very much scared of creativity. For, creative ones tend to be untamed ones. Science and its findings are surging ahead at unimaginable speed. Established belief systems, whether they be state, School or any damn thing, are finding it extremely difficult to cope with it. Scared of this pace, human consciousness find solace in the make belief world of the nostalgic past .

അങ്ങനെ പറയല്ലേ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് ഞാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.ലോക്ഡോൺ വന്നതിനുശേഷമാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ മനസ്സിലായത് ഓൺലൈൻ ഗെയിമുകളിൽ അടയിരിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികളെ പറഞ്ഞ് പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കാൻ രക്ഷകർത്താക്കൾക്ക് സാധിക്കുന്ന അറിവില്ല, കുട്ടികൾക്കും പിന്തിരിയാൻ ഉള്ള അറിവില്ല.ഓൺലൈൻ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിയുവാൻ ഇന്നും നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികൾ പ്രാപ്തനല്ല മനസ്സ് ചഞ്ചലം ആണ് എപ്പോഴും മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.സ്കൂൾ ,കോളേജിലും സ്റ്റുഡൻസ് രാവിലെ തൊട്ട് വൈകുന്നേരം വരെ ഇരുത്തി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സമ്പ്രദായ സമയം നഷ്ടം തന്നെയാണ് പക്ഷേ നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികൾ ഇപ്പോഴും അതിനപ്പുറത്തേക്ക പോയിട്ടില്ല.സ്കൂൾ കാര്യം പോട്ടെ മുതിർന്ന കുട്ടികളാണ് കോളേജിൽ പോകുന്നത് എൻജിനീയറിങ് കോളേജിലെ ഒരു സെമസ്റ്ററിൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു വർഷം കൊടുക്കുന്ന fee നമ്മൾ കാൽക്കുലേറ്റ് ചെയ്താൽ ഒരു മാസത്തെ ഫീസ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത് വളരെ കൂടുതലാണ് പക്ഷേ എന്നിട്ടുപോലും കുട്ടികൾ പുറത്തുപോയി പ്രൈവറ്റ് ട്യൂഷൻ ആശ്രയിച്ചാണ് എക്സാം എഴുതുന്നത്.ജോലി ചെയ്ത കാശ് കൊണ്ട് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടണമെന്ന ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ,ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന രക്ഷകർത്താക്കൾ കുട്ടികളെ ഇപ്പോഴും കാനഡയിലും മറ്റുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്കും വിട്ടു പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ട ഗതികേടാണ്.ഇവിടെ കുറെ ടിവി ചാനലുകാർ ഉണ്ട്.ചുമ്മാ സമയം പോക്കിന് രാഷ്ട്രീയവും മറ്റു കാര്യങ്ങളും പറഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു വിദേശത്ത് പോയി പഠിച്ച് ഒരു വ്യക്തി വന്നിട്ട് ബിസിനസ് ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അത് പൂട്ടിക്കാൻ കുറെ ആൾക്കാർ.എൻറെ ഒരു സുഹൃത്ത് ഉണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം ബാങ്ക് 40 ലക്ഷം രൂപ ലോണെടുത്ത് ഒരു സ്ഥാപനം തുടങ്ങി അതിനെ ലൈസൻസ് കിട്ടണമെങ്കിൽ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാർക്ക് 20 ലക്ഷം രൂപ, ബാങ്ക് വസ്തുവകകൾ ഒക്കെ ജപ്തി ചെയ്തു കൊണ്ടു പോയി .

I agree to all except the removal of educational institutions it is true that Internet has made knowledge available right in your door steps The real point of schooling is not just socialising,But to adapt and acquire practical skills too I am a student of science and for me internet is more than enough for acquiring theoretical skills But still I feel lack of confidence from not having enough discussions and exchange of ideas It is this exchange of ideas that makes platforms like schools productive according to me We won't have any nobel or fields from our lands,sorry to say we shall make labourers for west,we shall export our craftsmen Something like a China of Human resources. we sell cheap and we stay cheap. Even during This pandemic schools were/are open in-order to look after children of essential services workers- dr, nurses, police, supermarkets, fire services etc., so anyone would think purpose of most primary schools are what Maithreyan said! The current system evolved through 100+ years and a quick reversal will take another 200 yrs! Just like we moved from traditional medicines to modern one!

An example, keltron was found in Kerala by Mr nambiar. Who studied engineering from Madras and went to Work Texas instruments , USA. After Nehru call back all technically skilled indians from abroad, he also came and started companies like keltron and others. And there was enough govt support .In mytreyan's point of view, no Indians getting Nobel price in India. But, when they went to abroad and practicing with facilities there, they become scientists. Exactly correct.
