This image means so much to me, especially as a girl. The way she has to cover up her true self for a man is so true. She has to be pretty, she has to be polite, she has to be a doll. Its the only way she can have any self-worth.

Unrelated kinda but pretty sure the girl in the gif (Charlotte if I remember her name correctly) was crying because she was worried if the prince would show up to her party or not, he did so she quickly fixed herself up and was genuinely happy at the fact he came. She is not covering up her true self she was just sad at the thought the prince from a foreign land wouldn’t come to her party (she also wanted to marry the guy so that also has a part in her sobbing).
