Thanks for your comments! Yes, the 527 is a great gun too. I had one in 6.5 Grendel. Can't beat the 222!

Right on great job folk's.! That is a chambering I do own. Just a cheap old used savage 340, but my kids and I have fun with it. So far I've only used imr4198 with a couple different projectiles. Your rifle is very nice to look at and I'd love to try it out. Maybe own a set trigger some day after the prohibition.! Thanks and keep up the great work 🇨🇦

As always, thanks for your comments! My very first rifle was a Savage 340 in 222! It was a great little rifle. Set triggers are nice, but an adjustable trigger is good too.

Savage 340s and their hardware store branded counterparts, like my Revelation model 225 made in 1965 and chambered in the great .222 Remington, are fantastic shooters and have a following of their own. Mine wears a vintage Weaver K4. Superbly accurate.

I once had a CZ 527 Lux in .223 but had to sell it for the money. With it's 1:12" twist barrel it shot great with Hornady 40 grainers but started losing accuracy with 55gr. or heavier bullets. Also the bolt tended to bind if torqued while cycling the action. It was overall a good rifle and I'm sorry to have let it go.

I wouldn't dare to take down a deer or a boar with a .222. Here in the UK the legal minimum is .243.

I like 222. I use it to hunt roe deer in Europe. Do you have any experience about hunting with this cartridge? Thanks

Thanks for your comments! In my case it was wookchucks/groundhogs, never anything bigger. It worked great for them. I did notice that a lot of the combination guns in Europe are chambered for 222. It is a great cartridge!

Why cannot you and all the rest just describe it as treble two ?

Or maybe I could call it the 5.7×43mm, or the triple deuce, or the triple two. In all the decades experience that I've had with the "Two Twenty Two" that's all I've ever heard it called - for the most part. Nothing wrong with the Treble Two, it's just not the name I'm most familiar with.
