Victorinox Swiss Army Pocket Knife Restoration And Customization
Ойын-сауық
Victorinox Swiss Army pocket knife restoration and customization.
I decided to restore an old Victorinox Swiss Army knife. This knife had broken scales and a dull blade. I replaced the original scales with deer antler and polished and sharpened the blade. I hope you liked my restoration.

I knew he was gonna replace the scales, but when he pulled out a deer antler.. I was like 'DAMN!" amazing job, and the result is so good you can't tell what this tool has been through
Outstanding job, sir. To others who may do this with your own knife, a word of caution; don't get too generous with the epoxy, a tiny dab will do. Too much, & excess can flow from around the rivets & into the accessory groves on the back of the scale, & your tweezers & toothpick will no longer fit. I've been carrying a Swiss Army Knife as my EDC for 37 years, & I learned this lesson the hard way. The internet has made acquiring replacement scales & parts infinitely easier than in past years, & the selection of aftermarket offerings is surprisingly diverse.
Ich bewundere Leute, die soviel Geduld und Geschick aufbringen können,um so ein Kunstwerk zu schaffen. Bravo!
Its funny. I got the same knife, when i was a boy, fifty years ago. But mine looks like new. I never used it in all those years. Your customising is great.😊😊😊

Victorinox bartender/waiter, awesome knife, had mine 20 years+ still as good as new !
The waiter was brand new Man. The video should be "change of scales"

Totally Agree.
Great job! The knife looks amazing, very beautifull
Perfektná práca!🍻 Veľmi inšpiratívne.🇸🇰
Look very good.😎 I also agree with others about some way of putting on a Swiss logo. The question is which one from which manufacturer and which series/year(s). Early on there were 2 manufacturers of Swiss Army Knives. Victorinox was founded in Switzerland in 1884 with a patent for the original Swiss Army Knife issued in 1897. Wenger was founded in Switzerland in 1893. Victorinox was located in a German-speaking area. While Wenger was located in a French-speaking area. The Swiss Army contract eventually was split 50/50 between Wenger and Victornix. So Wenger began to produce Swiss Army Knives from 1908 thru 2005. When it came to sales to the public Victorinox marketed itself as "Original Swiss Army Knifes" while Wenger marketed itself as "Genuine Swiss Army Knives." On April 26, 2005, Victornix bought out Wenger and eliminated their competition. The Wenger brand was kept intact until 2013 when it was completely merged into Victorinox. Today, the last remnant of the Wenger brand is the Victorinox-Wenger knife. It features Wenger’s original logo and classic 7 functions. Original Wenger products can be found on the used market for the discerning enthusiast who desires a quality Swiss product from the past.
I’m surprised by all the negative comments on this very skillful and creative modification/renewal. Great work!
Very nice job, that looks great!
Excellent! Always been my favorite every day carry knife.
Wow! I thought you were crazy when you pulled out that antler. That looks awesome!
From now on, I’ll always think of this video while looking at my Swiss Army knife!

I like the antler scales best. Great work.
Beautifully done mister good job
Nicely done. From a new fan in Pennsylvania, USA. Now, I'm off to my garage to work on a very well worn 30+ year old SAK that has traveled with me to a dozen countries. I hope it turns out half as nice as yours.

Exquisite! Inspiring patience with an amazing result.
Looks realy nice!!!❤
I love the antler
That is amazing!
Good job. Of course I would like to see the coat of arms of Victorinox on the handle, maybe inlaid, but it's so good. Like.
Nice restauration, love the "custom scales" :) hint: if you want to reuse the celidor-scales, soak the knife in about 50°C warm water for a few minutes, scales get soft and go off without being damaged, and can be reused without epoxy

Ah yes, this is how i put my +scales on. I could even modify it with one more slot where i carry 4 extra Zippo flints 😅. The +scales are great and came with a needle, tiny screwdriver you can twist in the corkscrew, pen, lanyard and ofcourse the standard tweezer and toothpick. They even have semi transparant scales which are kicka** because you can see all the tools. Got mine from Etsy.
I’ve got a 32 yr old “camping” with well worn red plastic bits, this has given me the inspiration to do something.
Nice job. I liked the tracing 'trick', clever.

Great restoration 👏👍 Congratulations and Greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪🖐️
Looks great, well done.
Great to see you fixing up the knife , I have carved antler over the years and many years ago I was advised to ventilate well a wear a dust mask because there is a fungus that grows in antler that can grow in your lungs . Please advise viewers to take precautions.
👏👏👏 👍very good work 🇫🇷

Great percise work .. i like the idea
Fantastic job, fantastic result! I would have one question: the base plate of Victorinox knives has a curve that allows the folded blades to fit together. Did you straighten this curve on the base plate, or incorporate the curve into the handle scales? If so, how did you calculate and address this curvature? I would appreciate any insights you can provide on this matter.
very good work
Woooow, great job! a master work!, I really enjoyed watching! thks!!!

He just wanted an excuse to put antlers on a Swiss army knife. It was fine
That knifE is terrific
This was way more effort than that cheap Swiss Army Knife deserved. Result turned out nice! I think the crappiest part of a Swiss Army Knife are those flimsy plastic scales. You fixed that.
Very nice.
Super nice!
C'est génial, bravo.
