Victoria's authorised biography "Let's do it" reveals a somewhat antagonistic relationship she had with both Melvyn Bragg and the Southbank Show. In an earlier meeting she had with Bragg years before when they were both judging a talent contest, she found him "unnecessarily rude.' Her first appearance on the Southbank Show in 1996 was problematic. The original producer showed up late at her house and she asked for him to be removed. The replacement producer found her "frosty". There was a part that had to be edited out when they filmed Victoria with two fans approaching her for an autograph and she was quite rude about them before they got to her. She was also somewhat startled when Bragg asked her if Pat & Margaret represented the two sides of her personality. He asked her the same question in this episode and she was very unhappy about it. She felt he wasn't taking it seriously and just recycling old stuff. Victoria also later met a number of people who had known Nella Last and found out that the way she had portrayed her was quite wrong. Nella was remembered as actually having made her husband's life quite unpleasant and certain things that she had written about in the diary never actually happened.
