    To be fair, strategy games usually have a very rough start. They are like wine, which hurts more when they *do* fail.

    @@mrjaman3752I've been playing since I got it on Humble Bundle. Is it shit? Nah I had fun and I'm still having fun Is the game still barebones with a lack of content? Absolutely Stop giving Paradox a free pass, they're not the lovable indie dev anymore. I had the investment pool bug happen in one of my games and after reading through the forums that bug has been in the game 5 MONTHS NOW and yes the dev team is aware of it.

    This stuff feels like your country developing baggage from the decisions you made (or forced upon you) that ripple into gameplay consequences/management. I love it!

    Blud it’s been almost 2 years, the lifespan of ck2/eu4 was 12 years with 2 dlcs a year, it’ll be the second expansion of vic3. I won’t start crying about pricing, it is brave on their part to price a dlc like a base game

    I bought this game last week and since I was playing as Gran Colombia there's one thing I'd really like to see in this patch. Canals rework, so they actually are worth building, instead of just giving some prestige.

    Canals now allow the creation of a company that provides a lot of revenue.

  • @SereglothIV

    @SereglothIV

    @@johnwesley3140 It only provides 50k revenue if it's prosperous. And the prosperity increases when your average shipyard efficiency is 25 or higher (mine was around 8-9). I'd like the canals to be worthwhile on their own, instead of being tied to shipyards as a patchwork solution.

  • @GustavSvard

    @GustavSvard

    The Panama canal should be creating a new shipping lane, and have a special building (similar to railroads) that give the owner revenue based on how much that shipping lane is used (and have a cap on that usage?). Should also have a maintenance cost. Same for Suez. and the Kiel canal. And the (otl unbuilt) Nivaragua canal too. I'd be surprised if it isn't in the game by the summer of 2026. Probably as part of a trade logistics update.

    @@mrjaman3752 Me showing I haven't had time to actually play it much :) Not giving revenue is a problem IMO. And it ought to be a special building that needs staffing and maintenance inputs etc. And now with ownership coming that would be perfect for the Canals. A dream would be for the canals to have a max capacity too, sort of like railways do in a way. Maybe also the ability of the country/owner to stop convoys from certain countries going through? That ought to also be true for the Danish straits and the Bosporous, etc.

    The power bloc system seems to be carbon copy of Stellaros' federation system. Which is a good system. One big issue was that it divides the map too well, and too predictive like. Hopefully this is addressed.

    I‘m looking forward to 1.7. I really do. But on the other side i am really concerned about how the AI will handle all the new stuff. I mean it is barely able to build up its economy, which is the base of the hole game. 1,5years after release. And i‘m of course also concerned about new serious bugs or new performance issues. In fact for me this update/dlc and its upcoming hotfixes is the last bullet vic3 has. It must succeed. I hope it does.

    The autonomous investment pool has been working great for me. This sounds like a skill issue, you just gotta get used to how they build stuff. They build profitable buildings but only to support themselves, i.e. Aristocrats will almost always build agrarian buildings even if there is more demand for manufactured goods. If you want capitalists to build more, you have to spend the early game pumping up their numbers via logging camps and other capitalist-owned buildings. One nice thing is, early game, the private investors will rarely have enough money to build stuff, so you’ll have access to all of their construction sectors much of the time.

  • @craftsmenMC
