The real Lesson that he’s trying to make us learn is that you don’t LEARN the lesson of music... you feel it, and you play it. Nobody will ever be able to learn this song and recreate it the way he does because this is HIS expression and that’s precisely how music is supposed to be: an expression of yourself and how YOU make people feel. I find new things every time I watch this video. Here's a list (ongoing): • All throughout the song, you'll be able to hear parts where he "misses" notes (tries to hit and doesn't come through or something like that). Most people call it a mistake, we call it jazz. • Around 1:15 , he starts to improvise, but from what it sounds like to me, he hits a note he doesn't want to, but still improvises with said "wrong" note into a beautiful walk. Moral of the story: When you can improvise, there are no "wrong" notes lol. I like to say, "My favorite scale is the chromatic scale."

Bass=easy to learn. Hard to master. Guitar=harder to learn easier to master. I disagree with you slightly. He would still be dam impressive on a classic guitar as a lot of his technics have come from guitar players, but also other drummers and other musicians also. But yes I agree completely on everything else. I can play both but favour bass. Each to they're own :)

Aaron Tottman Easy to learn because most bass player are ex guitarist that loves thhe feeling of earthquake moving through them.

Aaron Tottman The bass PARTS that are written for most music are easier to learn than the guitar parts. But the bass itself is more physically demanding because of the string width and spacing. Because guitars are physically easir to play, and because the register of the tones are more audible when notes are being played quickly, guitar became more of a virtuoso instrument in mainstream music

Bass isn't easier to learn. It's easier, maybe, to make a sound from than a guitar but to really learn it is just as hard as learning any instrument. A guitarist could not just suddenly pick up a bass and play like this video.

Victor Wooten do not play the Bass, he let the Bass talk. Just FANTASTIC .
I don't even know where to begin. Absolutely incredible , so fluid, such genius and such an inspiring man both in personality and proficiency. Beyond words!
I LOVE the bass and I watch so much content on KZread about it that sometimes watching someone play can get boring or even put me to sleep (in a good way from watching too many videos) but with Victor I can literally watch this man for hours and be amazed for that same amount of time
From 4.45 to 4.58 is the most incredible display of artistry I've seen ever!!!

charles powell You just picked up the worst part, the less musical, compositive part, and said it is "art". That's when music dies 😂😂😂😂 just speeding up it's technique, not "art".

@@freelosophy8854 so, those three different melodies, AT THE SAME TIME, even with the speed, isn't art??? Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!!!

This is one of my absolute favourite videos on KZread that I can never help but come back to every now and then. Victor is a blessing to us. Thank you for your art :)))
He said uh twice actually.
I'm not usually a fan of solo bass songs but that was beautiful, not just amazing technique but incredible melody and although technically challenging not gratuitous, every note has purpose
What a aesthetic slapping and note sense, they just sound so amazing every note feels from Heaven. ❤
I watched this years ago, and literally dreamt about it last night. 😂 Here we are again. Truly astonishing, Victor Wooten.
How do you like it more than once? This is so beautiful! Thank you Victor!

I love ur bass solo... Thank you so much! Victor Wooten..
I wish I could see a collab with Jordan Rudess on Keys, Guthrie Govan on guitar, Gavin Harrison on drums, and Victor Wooten on bass. That would be amazing.

I'd like to see Marco Minnemann and Gavin Harrison work on drums together and exchange a percussive solo section in a song, and Tosin, Guthrie, and Victor can take the next part and keep switching parts, and then Rudess's solo in the end, and all the guitarists start playing the same line as him in the end and fade out. More detailed than I intended...
I've been listening every day for the past month, can't stop listening.
I’ve watched this so many times. victor is simply amazing! Beyond talented
