If anything, Pop’s reaction literally proves Kerr was right about him being rejuvenated lol. When was the last time pop got visibly pissed on national tv and verbally insulted a peer? Dude got energy now that he didn’t have before! If he’s wrong, just say it and move on quickly. Bro gave a long winded rhetorical answer to sidestep the question and even insulted him at the end; he wouldn’t do that if he didn’t have the energy! Lol…

Wemby all-star this year for sure. His popularity is sky high. He will have a 40pts game in his first 10 games imo 😆 I believe he can average 23pt, 8 rb, 3 ast, 3 blk, 2 stl this year. A rookie to the NBA, not to basketball. You can clearly see it in his play, in his basketball IQ. Still a lot of things to perfect, but he's definitely not a "rookie". I don't think he would impact the game that much as players like Steph, Luka, Jokic, and Giannis today. KD has an even stronger base than Wemby but modern defense could stop that, contrary to what most casual fans believe. You really need a strong interior game in today's game and Wemby's offense could be disrupted if he doesn't bulk up. He would get pushed around and loses his outside touch in high intensity games. Also, his body type looks so prone to injury. He needs to muscle up is all I can say and if he does, it's over and nobody touches him. He does have the potential to be the GOAT. You cannot say that to almost 99% of the rookies.

If VW actually averages almost as much as Wilt did in terms of points alone that's crazy (let alone rebounds, blocks, and other stats) but if he also breaks the 100 point record..........he's not only in the goat debate but lowkey he might actually be the goat. We would have to see how many championships this converts too and how well he does in the playoffs and I doubt this will happen but he would actually have to be in the goat debate.

Wilt average 37ppg and 27rpg as a ROOKIE. Those numbers are far cry from what Wembenyama is currently showing. Stop this madness and be realistic for once. You Spurs' fans drive me crazy with your unrealistic comparison.

You can’t compare to career stats against a single game stat. One has to do with a persons career, and players today, for multiple reasons, are playing longer. A single game will NEVER compare to a career stat 7:08

Hate to be that guy but the only real thing that is going to hold Wemby back would be Pop. Ever since Kawhi, he has yet to incorporate an offense that is centered around a single player. Now don’t get me wrong it’s not to discredit him either but think about this Imagine he becomes the focal point of the offense year 1. Power house of a player and has averages the likes no one has seen for a rookie. Suddenly he gets injured, which is an inevitability. Now you are left with a subpar team. Pop is no dummy, he knows the risks with Wemby and I don’t think he will change the offense at the risk of having Wemby down the line be an inconsistent factor should his career be injury prone

I saw the kid playing in Europe and I was well aware that I was witnessing the most skilled agile big man to ever grace my vision. But as a general rule, a Rook gets no props from me until, after the 2nd year when those grown men start putting that wood on you and testing your temperament, challenging the very essential things that got you in the league and your weaknesses. I normally patiently wait,to see a Rooks character on a 3gm in 4 nights road trip and mid season. The reason why the second season is so important is because of the scouting report. Only time that scouting report gets real,is if the Rook is in the playoffs wrecking havoc. I know the records of past great Rook seasons. But I go by what I've seen for myself. The best Rooks I seen where I was sure and gave it up was Magic Johnson, Lebron and I can't clearly say who else. Now with this kid, once he played his first NBA gm. Once he stepped on the court. The vets where in awe and yes, they was intimidated. So intimidated they are scouting his defensive prowls as we speak. Forget about it. A new era has been born with this kid's name stamped all over it.

The mentioning breaking 50ppg, and 100pt game by Wilt was totally unnecessary. You just skipped past just bring a yearly all star, an MVP, making the team a title contender, winning the chip, etc... And went straight to talking about averaging 40/30, 100pt game, and averaging 50 a season? What would be wrong with averaging 28pt 14rb 6blk 5 ast and 2stl and getting MVP?! Wouldn't THAT... be wildly successful enough?!
