I’m from Argentina. Last year we had elections here and most of the conservatives and libertarians didn’t realize that we were not going to vote for a diferent economic program but for oposite instutional systems. Our real election was venezuela’s model vs republican model ..the venezuelan model won and now we are living a tragedy . My only question for you Leandro is why is it that Lationo's/Hispanics (Mexico, Columbia, Venezuela, etc....) culturally always seem to gravitate towards Socialism. It's a cultural thing among Latins that has always perplexed me since most Latins from what I see tend to seem to be conservative leaning in personal life. It defies reason.

That said, I'm not as familiar as I should be with the fall of the California GOP. The Republicans are reluctant to talk about it, and I wouldn't trust anything the Democrats had to say on the subject.

What you are describing was made possible by over 40 years of unchecked oligarchy. A seamless uniting of the elite ultra rich business leaders with their political flunkies. The neo-liberal viewpoint which says that as long as the rich are succeeding, everyone else will succeed. Move your job overseas for more profit? Oh that’s fine. Only a communist would complain. Allow pharmaceutical companies to sell an unchecked amount of dangerous opiates into communities across the country? No problemo! Oh so half the rust belt town you live in is dying from drug overdoses? That’s just an insignificant detail! Remove all sensible regulations and therefore put the economy and American lives at risk for some extra revenue? Great idea! These are the outcomes of a nation that is solely focused on the individual wealthy elites. He hasn’t been cancelled because he isn’t employed by any mainstream outlets. It’s not like he’s a sports commentator. You’ll notice there are no “hater” comments here. He flies under the radar, and most of the folks on the other side have never heard of him. (Yes, it is unfortunate that not everyone has heard of him) Also, those on the other side tend to ignore folks like VDH even if they are aware of him, he is too calm and too wise to attack. Kevin R Great point. Speakers like Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro are important as youthful purveyors but, their volume, enthusiasm and occasional insults are what makes them targets of the left. I just spent an hour listening to one of the greatest minds of all time. He is credible from the get-go. I have the utmost respect for his opinions. Thank you VDH for an excellent presentation.

I’ve said it before and will say it again, “VDH is a national treasure!” No shouting, no hyperbole, no drama....just logic based on common sense and historical perspective. Trump’s campaign team should get him a huge platform and just let him persuade folks with his calm, irrefutable arguments.

I watched a victor hanson speech about 3 years ago, right after trump got elected. I've grown up in Berkeley CA and know almost no republicans (that are out). I felt shocked by the narrative he produced, but I agreed with everything he said. Really changed my perspective on politics. This man is amazing, so dry, but so respectably amazing.

I love listening to him!

It is a great day when I hear VDH speak. Never look forward to any man’s voice but his.

VdH must have a sort of love-hate relation with mics/audio tech. He keeps on making podcasts, interviews & such, but those tech widgets never seem to co-operate with him. Brilliant guy, wise, profound, fantastic perspective of history and how it applies. Always worth a listen/ watch…even if you have to work a bit harder to do so.

Stealth voter. I lived in Boulder CO in 2016 and I told friends that I was voting for Trump. I got hammered so bad to the point that people were saying that I had turned potentially dangerous that I lied and told them I was voting for Jill Stein. They didn't really like that but they reluctantly accepted it. This time I am a 'stealth voter' for Trump.

Landscaping clients threatened to black-list me until I faked them out with the Jill Stein lie. Even now I don't trust telling anyone who I vote for -- and I live in a blue-collar work town fifty miles south of Boulder. It blew my mind Trump won last time -- I hope he wins again.
