I just discovered your channel, but upon checking it out and seeing 55 videos alone dedicated to Jane Austen, I found my heart melting. I love Jane Austen. She is easily my top favorite author of all time. Jane was truly ahead of her time with her works and it's sad she passed in only her 40s. But her writing has left a huge impact and legacy on readers and writers alike.

I've decided I would like to read all Dickens' novels in the order of publication. I've just finished reading his first novel, The Pickwick Papers, and I really enjoyed it. I'm going to pass over his second novel Oliver Twist, due to the fact that I already know much of the storyline and characters. Therefore, my next Dickens' read will be his third novel, Nicholas Nickleby.

I’m beyond excited for the Victober Readathon! I have a huge collection of very old Dickens books published from around the 1930’s (2 books are missing, sadly presumed lost in a fire). It’s been my goal to read them all. I prefer to listen to the stories on audio by the fabulous narrators. I also have Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights in very old editions. I just love all these these old stories! I will get Gothic Tales to read... I’ll have to figure out the rest with so many great choices. I like finding obscure less popular authors to read too. I will look through my Grandparent’s old books (and a few that belonged to my Great Grandparents) to see if there are any, plus the website you mentioned. I look forward to all your Victober videos. Most importantly, I want to say a big thank you Katie for doing all your Readathons. They bring joy to my life and I truly appreciate all the work and time you put into them.

Victober is one of my favorite times of year!! This year I might do Villette, East Lynne, and Jane Eyre. I’m reading Jane as I listen to Vanessa Zoltans podcast (bless her..I just love her) about it. I have a beautiful hard copy of East Lynne I snatched up as soon as I saw it at a used book store, in perfect condition. I need to check when it was printed. It’s so pretty

I am getting very excited about Victober. I haven't taken part before but I feel like October is a perfect time to read some Victorian Literature, particularly the more gothic novels. Wonderful challenges! It would be great to hear more about how you find the more obscure Victorian literature that you read. I will be reading The Portrait of Dorian Gray and Cranford. Also thinking of joining in the Wuthering Heights read along that Marissa and a few others are hosting as part of her Bronte Project. I was quite sad about the summer ending but the prospect of Victober just as the weather turns crisper and the nights draw in means I am really looking forward to autumn now!

I love Victorian books too. 💖 Love Thomas Hardy, Wilkie Collins and the Bronte sister. I like happy endings in my novels but i am curious about the dramatic, complicated, doomed love story of Lorna Doone. Might check the other recommendations as well.

So excited. Will definitely try to stick to the challenges, but also try to get to the bulkier books and get lost in a long and winding classic. :D I always tend to associate autumn with long novels, but I don’t know why… So excited for all your videos as well! Especially the vlogs; vlogs do always motivate me… Will there be a discussion with Nick this year?

Currently working my way through Dickens (your Dickens reviews are incredible - thank you) but plan on reading a different author during Victober - 🧐 Gaskell North and South or maybe a Anthony Trollope novel. So many greats to choose from.

I'm so excited to join in Victober again this year. I have been reading fantasy and sci-fi all year as it was a gap in my literary knowledge however all October will be dedicated to my beloved Victorian literature. Plans are Dracula by Bram Stoker, Villette by Charlotte Bronte and Wuthering heights by Emily Bronte both of which are re reads and The way we live now by Anthony Trollope. If there is any time left I will be picking up Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens.

Another great video Kate. I have just finished reading Bleakhouse in August and now about to read Shirley by Charlotte Bronte. I little while ago you did suggest you might do a readialong of Dombey and Son but maybe you did Bleakhouse instead. Have you any future plans to do any more readalongs as I have so much enjoyed the two so far. Well done for all your really excellent presentations. Many thanks.

I enjoyed the serialised Dickensalongs but they were very time consuming - so I'd like to do one at some point in the future but I just don't have time at the moment, sadly. Hopefully one day in the future!

The most wonderful time of the year is finally upon us! Diary of a Nobody was already on my TBR so that'll be my choice for the book-set-in-a-city challenge. I was thinking about rereading Carmilla but now I'm torn between that and picking up Uncle Silas, I'll try and do both since the former is short, but should I have time only for one, which do you think I ought to prioritize? I'll also be picking up my penguin classics copy of Oscar Wilde's plays (I didn't finish it when I started a year or two ago. I think I only read two of the plays back then) and continuing with George Eliot's Letters and Journals, which I started a few days ago. I might also sneak some of Romola in there too. If Kate and Emily host a Wuthering Heights readalong like they did with Jane Eyre last year I'll be joining them. It'll be my third read of Wuthering Heights which is my favourite Victorian novel and one of my all time favourite books in general. Also, finally picking up Lady Audley's Secret :D That's my TBR as of now but I'll be spending the next few days adding to it and trying my best to come up with something manageable

Ive bought so many Victorian novels this year getting ready for Victober, I have bought "the Moonstone", "Rachel Ray", "Nicholas Nickleby" "Our Mutual Friend", "Deerbrook", "A Dark Nights Work", Not sure which of these fits into the challenges though... Do you know of any "fantasy" Victorian novels, I've read Jules Vernes books and Arthur C Doyles The Lost world.

You know I love Victober. It was one of the things that sucked me into booktube and made me want to start a channel. I may actually make my month 100% Victobersome this year and only read things that are from or about the Victorian era. So far the plan includes Mary Barton (female main character), Doctor Thorne (rural), Hard Times (city), Dracula (popular). I have a buddyread for Daniel Deronda. My poet of the month will be Elizabeth Barratt Browning. Tilly and I are thinking of a Victorian play for our Discussing Drama series. I wonder if we can find one that picks up on the sensation theme. And for nonfiction I have Mullan's The Artful Dickens although I may let that spill over into November. That should keep me busy. Really looking forward to a new Five Victorian Novels About video from you.

(Melanie here) I am in the middle Hard Times on audiobook right now and an Anthony Trollope on Kindle. I love Elizabeth Gaskell, but don't usually like Gothic books (although Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorite books). I loved North and South and also Wives and Daughters. I should probably compile a list of the Dickens and Trollope books that I have read. I would love to see you do a video of all the Trollope books you've read. Have you read He Knew He Was Right?
