I’d assume they want to find him for questioning. You are supposed to call the Police so they can start there investigation. You are supposed to place the gun down out of the way so arriving Officer’s don’t have any confusion or feel a threat. Upon their arrival, you notify where you place the gun and what happened from your perspective. After the questioning and investigation they let you go if it’s justified which in this case it would be.

What you do find is often criminals will obtain guns from other states where it is easier to procure a gun OR gun owners not properly securing their guns and they are stolen. To dismiss more stringent laws around gun usage as "BS" is just being willfully dismissive over safety issues. I'm not anti gun, but it shouldn't be a simple process to own a gun....for every video like this I can pull up videos of negligent lawful gun owners.

He didn't "think" he was gonna be robbed and he didn't open fire for fun, you can clearly see the other guy pull a gun out first. This was self defense, end of story.

I’m sorry but that is the most stupid thing you could have said. Typically on shootings that are self defense related, they need the self defender for statement purposes so they can prosecute the people of the attempted robbing. The other guy was clearly the aggressor, there was intimidation with an intent with a deadly weapon. It’s really infuriating for people who are involved with law enforcement to see comments like this because you clearly don’t educate yourself on the topic. And on the other hand, the police want to verify this guy is a permitted ccw holder and owned the gun. If he wasn’t the most they will do is a slap on the wrist for the gun because it was an action of self defense unless you are a registered felon.

Lol are you slow, the police need all three of them once a gun is involved its a whole different game self defense or not. The issue here is they need him, the victim of the robbery attempt for the robbery charges. They have the suspects now they need him to close the case.
