Against my better judgement, I fucking love this dude. In a story full of complex three dimensional characters it's fun to have this guy, a simple badass seamen. I imagine he will not live long after this but I really hope he does.

Dane Herring The Ironmen Storyline is most definitely my favorite in the whole series. Ashas pov Victarion, Euron even Theons..Theons chapters in Dance are beautiful..

I'd prefer if Euron stayed tf away from Dany but you're right it could also be him 😂 though I think the thoughts of his first foes first ship and first woman are definitely thoughts that could make Victarion smile sadly. She also doesn't mention the corpse wearing an eye patch.

I think the 3 men will sound the horn and die. But the noise will still attract the dragons and Victarion will die like Prince Frog. Thinking he can be bad enough to conquer a dragon and burnt alive for the trouble.

It’s ironic how Victarion talks about freeing the slaves, when he keeps thralls who are essentially slaves. And he thinks that he can just claim Dany as his wife, because he’s used to telling women what to do. He’s not used to independent women like her.

While I like your take on Victarion's voice (you do have a great narration voice), I do think Roy Dotrice's audiobook of A Dance With Dragons nails Victarion down quite well. GRRM has stated that Victarion isn't the smartest person, that he's actually kind of dumb, and I think the Dotrice narration sort of unconsciously took that into account with Victarion. He's not much of a smooth talker, in fact he compensates most of the time by getting angry when he doesn't understand, which is quite often it seems. I do think that voice you use would fit Euron Crowseye though.

Mr. Pulsar nice to see someone else who appreciates Dotrice. Too many people give him shit over dumb stuff like the Jeffrey/Joffrey thing. While he could occasionally forget what accents he’d given a character, I think he’s pretty excellent. I’m a little apprehensive about who will replace him.

I do agree that it's impressive on its own right all the different voices he juggles and he did nail victarion but sometimes he gives characters with completely different personalities the same voice and the way he did brienne's was unforgivable to me. I'll never know if I would have liked it more having not seen the show first. shes one of my favourite characters. He also has a tendency to drone. And please Don't get me started on patchface lol. Every time I hear him do that bong dong thing part of me dies. I liked the narrator of the dunk and egg short stories more. Once again though it's a little hard to compare because he had a way lighter work load. Basically I have equal hatred and admiration for the man. Kinda a random point but idk if you've ever listened to the audio recording of the name of the wind and a wise man's fear but I really loved that narrator. That's the only other epic fantasy series I've ever listened to. He brought so much heart to the characters voices.

Spoiler question---------- ???????????? Why is he blowing the dragon horn now??? I thought Moqorro said in ADWD that Victarion had to kill the horn's master in order for himself to control the dragons, so I thought he would go back and kill Euron before blowing it..

He said he had to claim the horn as the dragons would only serve the horns true master. He also said fire for blood, blood for fire, which makes me think that you have to have dragons blood to master the horn, unless Morrison can pull some red God magic trick to make victarion the master. I can't ever see victarion being a dragon rider, maybe crow's eye though. Especially now that he has VS armour. Maybe he's already mastered the horn.

I do love the HBO series.... but they f***ed up when they decided to leave Victarion out of it. I wish more people that watch the show would read the books. They dont know what they're missing.

I believe a lot of people will read the books out of disappointment with season 8 I should know I'm one of them. let me just say my disappointment has grown.

@@skull2470 Your last sentence says your disappointment has grown; may I ask why? Also book 1, and the show are nearly verbatim. Book 1 is also my least favorite maybe because I have read it so many times. Now if I'm rereading the books I'll start at book 2. Also be sure to read 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' it is a compiled book of short stories based around two characters 'Dunk' and 'Egg'. Each story comes to an end. Though it says more stories will be written of them, but I doubt GRRM will write more of them(though I hope he does it's my favorite of the books.) They seem like minor characters, but they become major. Also they are around major characters from the past you hear about in the ASoIAF books, like the three eyed raven while he was still human. it's a century before book 1 'A Game of Thrones'. I have the original printing which had a green cover, but a few years ago they released a hardcover with a sleeve jacket that is VERY high quality. The cover is red with a tree which is Dunks sigil. Get the nice hardcover book. It also adds black ink art for some scenes depictions throughout the book; though not there isn't a lot of it. The book in total is 355 pages. I would say this book is essential reading, and perfect to read while waiting for GRRM to release the next book. Oh yeah they released comics of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. One for each short story. Those were very well done too; if you like comics they're worth searching out.

I think Daenerys Targaryen is the only one who can blow the Dragon horn without dying.

@@Argos-xb8ek no "mortal man". Dany is still a mortal. And it doesn't matter who blows it. The dragon will (supposedly) obey the horns MASTER. Not who blew the horn, and he must claim the horn "with blood" to be its master.

@@killerjob12 hmmm a wight. hadnt thought of that. The others would have to get their hands on the horn for that to happen. Vic knows Euron's gifts are poison, and he knows he needs to claim the horn with blood. I'm not sure if he knows how to do that though.

If he doesn't get a pov in the book he'll/his body probably be a zombie controlled by someone else. His spirit could be in ghost until he can get his body back.

I like the idea that his body will be put under the wall with the other two dead bodies he brought back from the weirwood grove. The fact that the wall has magic in it and preserves his body is a good theory. Westeros.Org has THE best theories, especially about Euron.
