Vicky White's double life revealed | NewsNation Prime

Almost no one could have suspected that Vicky White, the longtime assistant director of corrections in Lauderdale County, Alabama, had such a secret dark side.
On Friday, April 29, she drove to the detention center, telling colleagues she was taking inmate Casey White to the courthouse for a mental evaluation. Now, they are nowhere to be found.

@@spelmanbnd05 . Go back and listen to all the interviews that the sheriff had with the news crew. There lies your answer. Don’t come under my comment, questioning me over something that was clearly stated in those interviews. Everybody, the staff and inmates knew before hand about their 2 year “special relationship” prior to Vicki walking the inmate out of the jail that day. Nobody question her because was in a position of authority and 2nd in command there. They knew it was wrong but nobody challenged her because of her authority and because she was able to do and get away with so much, up to that point. The sheriff made every excuse he could make to portray her as the “exemplary” employee because he didn’t want to bare any of the responsibility of what he allowed to go on in his jail causing the nation to find out about it’s shady practices. He never once called her a “fugitive” until he was forced to do so after everything was said and done. He was hoping that she was being held hostage against her will so that his department can come out looking halfway legitimate. She had all the ammunition to carry out his escape, enabling him to go on the run yet some people want to try to make her out to be the victim, here. Nooooo, everything is transparent. Vicki was as corrupt as they come and was held bent on not facing judgment which is a testament of how this whole thing was able to happen in the first place. Vicki and the aid of her superiors. So if you’re looking to troll me, find yourself another hobby because I’m not the one!

The former employer mirrors my take of Vicky. I have been around too many people that successfully presented an entirely different image of what they were inside to be too shocked by something like this. If you look at the circumstances and time lines they all support that she was not a victim at all. It is just we have entered a time when everyone's hidden issues are magnified and manifesting themselves on the surface. Her shooting herself validates this perspective as well. She no longer could hide behind the image she created for others so she took the easy way out. When the lie is revealed there is no other option left.

They have fbi now in the investigation should've been from the start. Vicky planned this months to 2 years ago. Sold her $400, thousand home for sale for $92, thousand dollars. Turned in her retirement paperwork day before the escape. She probably stole other names from driver license's working as a head deputy working at the jails making drivers license's with other aliases on them with her picture. She is totally in charge of keeping them from being busted while on the run. I keep hearing that she was manipulated into doing this and that but how I see it and using common sense you can see she planned it all. From 2 yrs ago they had a romantic relationship that Vicky tried to hide. She used a different name on the phone calls from the prison. Now they need to listen to the to phone calls ok f Casey be white the to last couple of months. I hope Alabama isn't doing all the investigation because when the reporters we're questioning the sheriff he didn't really know this lady. When you have employees working around inmates you should know as much as you can about them for reasons just like this. I bet it's going to bite this sheriff being re elected in the next election. To hey should've gotten a search warrant for Vicky's mother's house to go through paperwork and computer in that house and garbage. I think they are behind the 8ball here and it's going to be a while till they catch these 2.

It's hard to hide 6'9"! This pair should have been listening to the news. They'd get a lot of tips on how to disguise themselves. Putting him in a wheelchair, disguised as an old woman, is brilliant. She would easily pass as an old caretaker. With proper disguises, and that kind of money, they could have been on the run for a long, long time. Too bad she threw away her life on Lurch.

When you watch that video of Vicky taking that prisoner out of the jail, that was enough for me. First thing I thought was; is she taking a good friend out for lunch?. Who walks that far ahead, back turned, holding the door open in that way, plus going solo. This guy is huge, with cuffs on just taking his good old time, he could've attacked her no problem!. She looked as if she was holding that car door open for her date. Speaks volumes on how loose their rules/protocols are in that facility. She knew she could just walk out with him. I'm glad he was caught. I feel disheartened for Vicky's family.

Why are people concerned for her life? She did this. She let him out. Whatever happens to her, happens. As long as he gets caught and nobody innocent is harmed. Update due to all the comments: Anyone assuming she was manipulated is making a huge assumption. The facts are that this was planned for years. It was deliberate, regardless of manipulation. She was an officer of the law. If anyone should have known better, it is her. She sold her house for less than half its value for cash. This wasn't a spur of the moment thing where she had a lapse in judgement. This has been planned for years. She is also white (less jail time) female (less jail time), and a former LEO (almost no jail time, if any). So even if she is caught, she will play the victim and everyone on here defending her will go "aaaawwwwwwwwwww, poor thing". What if she is manipulating him? What if she orchestrated this cause she wanted him out? Maybe she forced him to go with her? Lets turn it around a bit and look at it differently. She was armed. She had the vehicle, access, and money. What if she took him and he just said "ok, lets go"?

This man's goal was to get out of jail, so he played this woman by telling her everything she wanted to hear. He made her feel pretty and her commonsense went out the window! This was a lonely woman and he played on her loneliness in order to escape. He is now out, so it stands to reason that he will move on to his agenda, which probably doesn't include her. And, this is also a woman who has 90K in cash, which is a huge motivation for murder. And believe me, people have killed for far less money! People also seem to think he needs her alive in order to move around, but what people seem to forget is that this is also a very stupid man; criminals generally are. Thinking that this man would have the presence of mind to keep her alive is asking a whole lot of a man who is not terribly smart. This man does not need her alive... All he needs is her money and he can then contact any number of his Nazi friends, who I am sure would be only too eager to help him. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I am sure she is dead!

When you think that a murderer is your only hope for "love"...you proooooobably need to reexamine your life. 😉

It is so dumb that ONE FEMALE officer was allowed to walk out of prison with a prisoner. What's up with that?

This whole department is incompetent and needs to be investigated. She should have never been able to walk out of there alone with him. They make it seem like she went to his cell took him out and did need any papers nor did anyone see them before they just walked right out the door. Also, on one hand, they are saying her knowledge and experience of law enforcement is an advantage but on the other hand, she wasn't smart enough to see through the inmate who manipulated her. Which is it? The entire country is in danger until they are caught. Thanks Vicky!

What if she slept her way up the chain? Then when she got there, she's protected eight ways to Sunday. The big guys who got her there have been promoted to higher positions, and don't see her anymore, the ones who see her every day, are her subordinates, and if they open their mouths, thier fired. She's not a nice person. I'm betting her ex husband lived with her, rather than go to a nursing home, and she was taking his disability check. She's a shrew.

having knowledge and experience in law enforcement has nothing to do with what emotional decisions a woman makes. You are conflating things that dont go together.

Why are they showing an old photo of Vickie? Why are they not emphasizing that the male perp is 6'9" tall? The fired employee had his finger on the issue...Vicky looks much older in life than that useless photo.

I have a hint for people even if the were in a wheel chair. Be on the loom out for extre.ely long feet. And very large hands My dad was Six feet six inches tall and wore a size sixteen shoe My son is six feet seven inches tall and wears a size 14 shoe. For larger shoe sizes past a 14. Would have to be special made. Or ordered from a speaciLty men's large shoe sizes.

SOMETHING STINKS in this whole matter. Vickie was Asst Director at Lauderdale prison. Why didn't officials at the Other prison red flag Vicki's personal interest in Casey by her phone calls and several visits to Casey at Their facility?? Then facilitate by a technicality Casey being "transferred" to Her facility ??? Didn't that seem kinda "fishy" ??. THEN at Lauderdale prison - how is it that the inmates noticed the special privilege, attention & treatment she gave Casey - BUT fellow officers and employees didn't notice it ? Not even the Head Director ??? Were they afraid to question it or say something because of her level of authority ??? All everybody mentioned was how nice she was and an outstanding employee. So it looks like they All ignored or turned a blind eye to what she had been doing even before the escape. Escape day, that booking officer should NOT allowed her to break protocol (escort Casey by herself) - No Exception to the Rule !!!! BOTTOM LINE : Vicki was Either wielding too much power because of her position and reputation - OR - she was not acting alone.. It just seems too much obvious crap was going on for her to have accomplished what she did.
