2:16 you can see the quad player stay leaning towards the directing that they're marching toward. And they for to mention that when your matching backwards, you are always on your toes to you won't fall backwards
Any suggestions if I'm crabbing and I keep pointing my toe at an angle and it makes my hips shift? I can't seem to completely fix it no matter how hard I try...

You can try using more of your platforms. Another you can do is to have your arms raised at like a 45 degree angle.
Whats the cadance at the beginning
Why tf are they wearing jeans? And they are like all wearing jeans so they were clearly asked to... wtf??

college line doing a video. not the same as what you might be used to. doesn't make it wrong.
Are there any general rules on leaving heel off the ground or letting it come down while crabbing/backwards marching? I notice in the group used, about half let the heel down on each step and half don't. Pros/cons?

Ok so, when you march back or crab, you lift your heel off the Ground and use your platform so if anything happens to be in the way you can safely roll over it or step on it instead of bumping into it, and you lift your heel when crabbing so your feet glide over each other.. these guys just arnt good, theyre also all in jeans.. I wouldnt take advise from this video

@@Iplayquad this is friggin Brian Mason, dude. Worked for SCV and the Cavaliers forever. Be open to new ideas. Understand context. These videos were produced using a college line. different needs than corps or competitive high school.

Also why arnt they on their platforms (using their calf muscles)? Theyre gonna hurt them selves or trip over their own feet

staying on the platform is a philosophical issue rather than a right/wrong issue. Cavaliers rolled down on backwards marching during their heyday as drill masterminds. pros and cons to each approach.
my band director had the bright idea to add two whole moves using this while we are pushing a big shape I'm in the front I'm not happy about it

I've never seen anyone crab with the left in front, going right and right in front, going left. Usually it's the 'lead' foot that will be in front and the 'trailing' foot behind.

I guess that means you should probably get out more, because what you call usual definitely is not.

yeah, crab stepping like that doesn't really make sense. it would be cumbersome, as the "trailing" foot would get in the way, or you would be slower and wouldn't march as smoothly.

No? You definitely want the leading foot behind and the trailing foot in front...
who's here from "absolute choice"?
