Back in the 90's I was booked to play a weekend engagement with Mel Torme. Mel fell ill and Vic Damone stepped in to play the tour. What was special was he received permission from Sinatra to play the Sinatra songbook/Nelson Riddle arrangements along with Vic's own reportoir. A real standup class act!

What a lucky man you are !!! I wish I could have been a little mouse in your pocket !!!! I have been "in love" with Vic for over 70 years. He has been my favorite since I first met him at radio station WPEN in Philadelphia, PA back in the late 40's. I was about 14 and he was about 18. Still loving him today (September 20, 2017). I hope he has many, many more happy and healthy birthdays. I enjoy his singing on You Tube. I could listen to him all day and night long. I never tire of listening to him.

His piercing eyes mesmerize me (even at my age! - just about 4 years younger than Vic). Do you get the idea that I really love his beautiful voice. I kinda l love him, too!!

For his part, Sinatra was also quite complimentary of Vic. “If I had one wish,” Sinatra once said, according to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, “It would be for Vic Damone's tonsils. Vic has the best pipes in the business.”

Buble does not understand phrasing-emotion-subtleties. Although his sound is pleasant, you can absorb everything he has to offer after only a few short measures of music. No drama....no feeling.
